My mum saw Prince Tui Teka live in his heydays at the Milford Marina in Auckland she's now 70. She said it was the best time. The good times have gone. I was born in the wrong era 😂 I listen to Prince Tui Teka to this day he has something special about him a real richness about him. Rest easy now Prince 😊

This song is the Maori version of the old Indonesian song Mimpi Sedih ( Sad Dream )

Yes, you are correct, and what a wonderful song it is. "NZ soldiers in Singapore intoduced Prince Tui Teka to this popular Indonesian love song, and Ngoi Pewhairangi wrote these Maori lyrics for Tui Teka to sing to his wife Missy." folksong.org.nz/e_ipo/

Shot for the history on this bro, hits me close to home on both fronts, My Wife is Indonesian and our Daughter is part Maori/Indonesian and my uncle is buried in Borneo Indonesia as he fought there back in the day. Never knew this songs real origin!
