It's interesting to look back at this video now, in December 2022 :) It seems like the Jouelscope has became a success. I have my own JS110, and it's a really nice tool !

Thanks @rigfix! It's a little late to still be pitching the Kickstarter ;) Great to hear that you like your JS110! We are still using Custom Electronics Co for our Joulescope assembly. The first JS220 build went great using this exact same equipment! The only major new addition compared to JS110 assembly is a fiber laser that we use to laser engrave the bottom of the enclosure.

How much it cost to buy an PCB assembly machine. Who are the providers?

Hi @prudhvi daruvuri - I design and sell products. I am not a contract manufacturer, so I do not have a lot of experience with different machines. I have heard you can get small, hobbiest-grade pick & place machines starting at about 2,000 USD. However, the professional equipment shown in this video costs much, much more. I have heard that Neoden makes some of the least expensive, but still decent, machines. Good luck with your search!

What are exactly the models of robots used in this video for the assembly process of a Printed Circuit Board ? Is there any possibilites for creating your own custom assembly robot and software for developing a high speed PCB? Thanks in advance :)

I don't have the exact info, but if you step through the video starting at 3:08, I think you can see most of the equipment manufacturers and general model numbers. You certainly could create your own machines, but why when many commercial units exist for every price range. Also, professional assembly is reasonably priced. For example, check out PCBWay and Macrofab.

@@MatthewLiberty I was curious to know if It will cost me less to design and implement a high PCB myself and even programming a certain software project, than sell it to a specific corporation,from a business perspective?

@@albugabriel9277My opinion is that if you are just want something for yourself, it's usually cheaper to buy existing products. Companies spread out the development costs across many units. Your time to recreate something that exists is usually not worth it unless you are doing it for educational purposes or you plan to compete with the existing vendors.

@@MatthewLiberty I want to start my own PCB Manufacturing business and compete against my vendors, with this I can affiliate with medium or big companies who wants a implementation to their design or even create myself those designs for their problems.

@@albugabriel9277 So you want to start a contract manufacturing company? You should know that this is an incredibly competitive space. I have used contract manufacturers, but I have no experience with running a contract manufacturing company. Definitely do your homework and figure out how you will differentiate your company. For example, PCBWay and JLPCB are inexpensive. MacroFab and CircuitHub are easy to use and more capable. specific.dev has PCB "blocks" that you just connect together. zGlue allows you to make a custom chip.

Some components require certain max temperature during assembly. How is temperature monitored during the assembly process? Thanks for the video.
@Joulescope

The oven has different temperature zones so that it matches the reflow profile. You can program the temperatures. The oven regulates itself to match the programmed profile. At 3:12, you can briefly see the oven monitor that shows the temperatures.
