To kick off this special Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month series of Probably Nothing we are joined by Consultant Gynae Oncologist, Dr Adeola Olaitan, to talk about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.
Women visit the doctor an average of FOUR times before being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and more women (55-58%) are diagnosed at a late stage (3-4) than stage 1-2 where there are more treatment options available.
We know that being diagnosed at an earlier stage makes all the difference to the outcomes for women and people with ovaries who are diagnosed with cancer. We want everyone to know the key symptoms, know what is normal for them and be able to spot when something doesn’t feel quite right.
If you have any questions or concerns about the symptoms of ovarian cancer call your GP, you can also Ask Eve on nurse@eveappeal.org.uk. For more information on Probably Nothing and upcoming episodes visit eveappeal.org.uk/probablynothing
