n this video, I will briefly explain the guar crop production technology.
Guar or Guara is a leguminous crop which is grown as fodder, vegetable, green manuring and for seed purpose as well.
Guar is also known as Cluster beans. For seed purpose it should be sown in June in Pakistan
Warm climate is suitable for guar crop.
Seed rate: 10 to 12 kg seed per acre is sown at field capacity by drill method or by broadcasting method.
Land laser leveling is necessary before seed sowing.
Fertilizers plan: 1 bag DAP at sowing time and one ag urea at flowering time.
Irrigational plan: 2 to 3 irrigations are enough for this drought tolerant crop.
Pests: whitefly and Jassid
Diseases: Blight is main disease which can be avoided by seed treatment.
Harvesting: When 90% pods get ripened, plants should be harvested and spread for sun drying. Use tractor for softening stem before threshing.
Days to mature: It takes 120 days to mature.
Yield: 20 to 25 monds per acre yield can be achieved by this crop.
It is also known as Indian guar in India and Cyamous tetragocalobe is it's technical or scientific name.
