No thanks!! Rent to high, not enough good paying jobs!! The town will eventually die, as young people will move out to seek better opportunities!! Don't mean to rain on your parade, as I'm sure Livingston has a lot of nice things going for it, however..... Anyways, nice video and have a great weekend!!😊😊😊

That town will never die as long as it sits a few miles north of Yellowstone National Park.

I was just visiting there which is why I probably was suggested this I think it’s only cons unless you want to pay ridiculous prices to live in the middle of nowhere I don’t see the appeal

Everyone has a different view of the ideal area. I love it here because it's home, and I grew up in Montana. The wind keeps it less peoply 😂. Prices have gotten crazy though for sure! I blame Hollywood for making movies about the area haha!

Half a milion bucks for a standard 3/2 room house in a housing development. Where there is so much high wind and long snowy winters. No thanks.

Great opportunity for a builder to make starter homes . I think the rent are way to high for a town with few good paying jobs.

3k to rent is crazy expensive. That's more than some big cities. I've lived in Buffalo,ny my whole life, ive seen rents for a 3 bedroom apartment go from 450 a month 20 yrs ago to 1200 recently, and the thing is living wages haven't really gone up much in that time span to accommodate those rents. I will say the area you showed was beautiful as for myself id prefer to be in a more wooded area. Nice video its always good to see different part's of the country.

Yes, I'm out on the flats lol. I did want to mention about the rent prices that at the time I made the video they was only a couple rentals available in town so the "average" can look very different from month to month. There's a few more that are available now, but it's still running about 1000 per bedroom. That's very rough estimate, and depends on if it's a condo or single family home.

I am disabled but I enjoy the Wilderness and fishing and hunting. The cost on living seems a bit High. Do you think so? I live in Chattanooga Tennessee and things are fit less expensive. But I hate the humidity in the south. I have driven and camped all over Wyoming and I love Wyoming. The prices seem a bit less expensive in Wyoming area. I would love to go to Montana just to see what it's like

I think Wyoming prices are a bit more affordable. Wyoming has its own kind of beauty, and it's not as populated which is a bonus, in my opinion. 😊

What a surprise to run across this podcast. Way way back around 1950 we lived in Livingston for a few years before moving to Colorado. I remember Livingston as a really pretty and friendly town even the folks that worked on the railroad at the Roundhouse would happily show us little five and six year olds. The big train engines they were working on. Absolutely cannot believe the housing prices. We now live in Atlanta, suburb, and higher in the houses go for less than your starter homes!

Good memories! I love raising my kiddos here, there's lots of family friendly activities and community events. ❤️ Housing is tough. It's so hard to be like, yep... half a million is where we are starting for a basic home. If you renege the kprk radio station, it's for sale right now. 475k. I'm trying to get in there to do a video :)

Livingston is not what you remember. Railroad shops are closed, train crews are not based out of here, the only saw mill ry timber closed, main street is nothing but art galleries and bars. Paradise valley is flooded with houses, not cheap ones either. It's not the Railroad, ranching, logging blue collar town it use to be. Hollywood also has discovered Livingston and Paradise valley. Some of the production of Yellowstone, mentions paradise valley. The movie rust is going to do some filming up by Chico.

Hi, Heather..., Even though..., I live in historic Uptown Butte, Montana..., I ( enjoyed ) the video and "Thank you" for sharing the video, and information. I love Butte and the entire state of Montana, and would ( not ) live anywhere else. I do Fly-Fish for Montana Rainbow Trout with the many excellent rivers and creeks... I do buy my Fly-Fishing equipment and supplies at ( Dan Baileys for years ) in Livingston, Montana, and enjoy a couple of your Saloons and cafes... Great video... "Semper Fi" Mike in Montana P.S.: "Could you please do a video on downtown Livingston, Montana ?" * Livingston, Philipsburg, and Whitefish, Montana have the ( most beautiful small downtown areas ) in Montana... :)

Sean. Thank you for your service! I went to Montana Tech for nursing. I remember coming down off the pass in the winter and seeing the fog cover town completely so you wouldn't even know it was there. Lots of great history there! I'll have to do a downtown Livingston video in the future! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Rent is WHAAT??!! How can that be if there are not a lot of high paying jobs there? That makes absolutely no sense to me. I live in upstate NY and rent is not even close to that here and we probably have more jobs to offer. What is going on in Montana?
@anitakristensen4679
Жыл бұрын
Easy. Out of staters and greed. Also rentals are being turned into airbnbs. Or out of staters rent or try to rent their multi million dollar homes for 6 to 8 months of the year. Covid and the TV production " Yellowstone" has alot to do with things. For paradise valley is just outside of the town Livingston. Wich we are 56 miles from the north entrance to Yellowstone park. also higher property taxes, especially in town. In about 4 years time city property taxes have increased by about $2000.00. GREED, on many levels.
