The Strawberry Alarm Clock epitomized the late 60's "California sound". Fantastic.

This film along with Riot On Sunset Blvd., I Love You Alice B. Toklas, The Trip, Wild In The Streets, The Strawberry Statement, Vanishing Point, 3 In The Attic, The Wild Angels and The Love In are all incredibly cool TRIPS back to the 60's. If you didn't live it yourself, these films will allow you to check it out. What a great time...when teenagers ruled the world.

I was just a young child in 1968. But In some ways, I wish I had been born 15 years sooner, so i could have experienced the late 60's as a young adult. On the other hand, if I really had been born 15 years sooner, I guess I'd be in my 60's now. :P

They should do a sequel to "Psych Out" featuring Jack Nicholson as a 72 year old Stoney quitting his job on Wall Street and trying to get his Psychedelic band back together in the Haight. Of course everyone he knew then is now dead, so he ends up forming a grunge band.

The Beginning scene of this wonderful movie reminded me back in the time when I went to see Phish and The Dead. The scene especially at the parking lot was filled with peaceful hippies selling tye dye clothing, food, and other goods. I didn't do drugs but at least but I liked it. PS: I'm speaking this as a Neo Hippie and I wished I was born in the years 1950-1952 so I could be old enough to live in those times. Too bad I'm 20 years old :-(

Having done LSD and shrooms in the early 90's at a few rave parties when I was a trance dj, the experience when too much has been taken, people looked just like they do in the scene of this movie where their friend is geeking out bad, and his friends look like walking corpses. It aint fun because your mind says "this is real" and it's tough to reverse what looks like something permanent. The room appears to move, tree roots come toward you, many colors, and many many swirling bending sounds

@noahf67 the dvds releases do tend to change some stuff sometimes getting rid of the actual music alltogther due to copyright problems but also it may have opened with incense because it was their most identifyable song for tv airplay along with shortening the film size reformatting

okay,,,,,in the "cafe" scene- the guy with the joint- the "icebag" weed- is he supposed to be a hells angel or fake biker or somethin? Or just an anti-establishment fella in military regalia? Cant see his patches very well. He seems more real than anybody in the flick hehe. Aww but its cool to watch this again,,,,for the umpteenth time in my life. Nicholson is awesome.

@TheGB1950 Actually, it was more accurate than a lot of people want to admit, including the cheesy fakeness.
LOL, This is Hollywood's version of the us Hippies, flower children. It was annoying at the time, but it's amusing now, thanks for posting it. I love Jack Nicholson's fake Ponytail, and the guy with glued on sideburns, A DICK CLARK PRODUCTION ,HE WAS REALLY HIP BACK THEN,( NOT) !!!!!!!!!!!
