This may be the best instructional video for this kind of thing I’ve ever seen. As a person whose had more than her fair share of psych evals, I wish every medical professional was as professional and caring as this man. The only thing I don’t like about him is that he’s ordering sedatives without asking her permission. I was once given a sedative without knowing (I thought it was klonopin, which does not make me sleepy, but learned right before passing out that it was Ativan). Now, I have an extreme fear of sedatives of any kind, even laughing gas at the dentist’s.

I have adhd, anxiety, and depression. I’ve gotten by life pretty well by blocking everything out. I mean, I struggled in school. I tried to commit “s” a few times. I had a few panic attacks. I’ve never ended up in Hospital, though. I think I said, “i’m not fully living life since i’m always zoned out and I struggle with adulting sometimes”… so I went to get checked.

Idk it seems kinda fucked up tbh (talking in terms of being 18+) to keep someone against their will. Idgaf if someone is suicidal, everyone should have their choices. If they don’t wanna be hospitalized they shouldn’t be plain and simple. I am very scared of hospitals in general and worry about having to deal with mental health hospitalization.
@aahsimovieprojects
Жыл бұрын
@@timklafke4712 You have a right to your opinion, but I urge you to reconsider. There is certainly a lot of room for improvement in mental healthcare, but involuntary holds are an absolutely necessary aspect but if you've never worked in mental health or healthcare in general I could see someone having a differing opinion. Millions of people worldwide have their lives saved via the involuntary hold process and go on to improve their mental health and live happy and healthy lives. If those holds didn't exist those people would be dead due to an impulsive decision to make a permanent decision to end ones life in a situation which in many instances is temporary and can be fixed. Some people are put on holds when they shouldn't be which is obviously wrong, but it's not a reason to eliminate the process entirely as the positive impact of the lives saved greatly outweighs the negative. And in cases of those expressing homicidal ideations and thoughts of hurting others involuntary holds are absolutely necessary for the protection of the general public and the patient. I don't see how a rational person could argue otherwise.
