This was one of the most interesting shows I had ever seen when it came out at the time

Madoka felt pretty revolutionary when it came out. And I'm all for the suffering of magical girls works that came after. I never played the gatcha but the anime adaptation's first season was boring and forgetabble. The second/final season were better. The only thing I remember was the magical girls designs, some of them were pretty good. Bokurano mentioned! Honestly I never drew the parrallels between Kyuubei and Dung Beetle but you're right they are quite similar. Would llove to see a video on Bokurano (manga) or Narutaru (manga) or about Kitoh Mohiro's works overall. The Narutaru manga especially is easily one of the works that had the greatest and lasting impact on me.

hi this might be absoluetly insane but would it be possible for you to review full metal daemon muramasa someday? it's an amazing visual novel about the law of balance and everyone's stubborn ideals, it would mean alot if you could give it a read some day!

If you liked some aspects of the visuals and meanings in madoka, you should check out another anime called Flip Flappers. It is an absolute masterclass of symbolism, and is an exploration of the Jungian psyche. You could probably unpack more in a single FlipFlappers episode than in an entire season of Eva, Madoka, FLCL, etc. Oh did I mention and it's another deconstruction of the magical girl genre :)

I think you villainize homura a bit too much. She still cares for the other girls. I also think rebellion was a perfect ending even though it was a Cliff hanger. Its so perfect Id rather not have them touch it.
