@@user-bl4oq7fd8d I meant creation not as the creationist story of the seven days (which one could say time is relative and thus could’ve been over eons), but as in life. Honor life itself. Also I stand by evolution as it is what occurred and, even in my personal experience with dying, had seen the otherside. If you’re curious, died from a heart attack back in 2019. Came back two hours later, but my body was in poor shape. Rigor mortis had set in, skin was pale, cold, and clammy from the cold sweat, lungs devoid of oxygen, lots of nerve damage and some brain damage to the main regions which aid in verbal communication. I was a mess. Even the following month was a living hell as my body was practically a rotting corpse with bruised skin, hair falling out, and the god-awful smell despite constant bathing.

You can see the “S” in “Marsh” on the stone is written in that weird way that S’s were back in the 17-1800s
@nqh4393

It’s called “long s” (ſ) and was widely in uſe before the end of WW2. If the S is in lowercaſe, not at the end of the word, not next to an f, or not a connective s, then the ſ form is uſed inſtead. It’s ſtill preſent in the modern German letter ß, which is juſt two s (ſs) ſmaſhed together.

@Adri Its strictly volunteer. Grave yards have groundskeepers but they dont touch gravestones. Gravestones are left to the elements unless someone tends to them on their own time and material. They can be cleaned with water a paint scraper ,wire brush and toothbrush or something to clean out the lettering.

@@roberth.5938 Normally this care would be done by family members or friends, but in the case of someone who passed in 1802 it's doubtful that they have any who are available. Wow! As someone who loves to walk through old cemetaries & read the descriptions, I would really appreciate this being done. It hurts my heart to see a bunch of headstones stacked against a tree & not standing guard above the owner's grave. This would be an excellent activity for a volunteer group. As someone who loves wandering through old cemeterys, I would be willing to participate in something like that!
