Good explanations........what if the ct value is same for the control and treated sample. Say ct vlue 26 for both. Does that mean in gene expression or the transcript level is smae in both control and treated sampke

Can you please do a video interpreting further CT value and melting curves and how to interpret them? By saying for example this CT value with this Tm indicates primer dimer …. Or For example, what would a Ct value of 39 and a Tm of 64 mean when found in a negative control ?

Your videos are just great...can I ask you a sort of personal question if you don't mind? Can you explain the disparate CT values for the 18s RNA control for the Control 1-3 groups and the Mut1-3 groups? Is it because there is more 18s in the Mut1-3 groups ( possibly due the different intracellular environment in the Mut 1-3 groups??). I would have thought that the 18s RNA level would ve comparable in both groups at the outset.

can you explain to me mathematically, how the CT values decrease with increase concentration.
@animatedbiologywitharpan

The Cycle Threshold (Ct) value in quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) is inversely related to the initial amount of target DNA in the sample. A lower Ct value indicates a higher concentration of the target DNA in the starting material. In qPCR, the amplification of the target DNA is monitored in real-time, and the Ct value is the cycle number at which the fluorescence signal crosses a predefined threshold. The fewer cycles needed to reach this threshold, the higher the initial concentration of the target DNA. So, a high DNA concentration in your sample would generally result in a lower Ct value, and vice versa. Researchers often use Ct values to estimate and compare the relative abundance of target DNA across different samples in qPCR experiments.
