Alton Brown, my personal hero. You were the reason I got into cooking and became a Chef! Your intimate knowledge of food plus the fact that you could make an engaging and entertaining show (Good Eats) while also explaining everything in a concise but thorough manner helped me understand everything a lot better. It also gave me an idea of how I wanted to impart my knowledge onto others and I used that to train many young aspiring cooks who came through the kitchens I worked in. After 11 years I am unfortunately no longer a Chef due to some changes that needed to happen but my dream is still to open a small ramen bar someday in the future when hopefully the hospitality industry helps to support its workers more. Never stop inspiring people Alton!

It would be my dream to just sit at a table and have AB throw drinks and food at me for hours! He is my cooking mentor! He’s not afraid to mess up. Every time I try a new dish I ask myself “what would Alton do?” 😅

QQ has been a sanity saver -- from the initial launch through the present. You guys got me through some really tough times (my Mom's Alzheimer's and passing, isolation during the pandemic, and rough patches in my doctoral program -- which I'm still working to complete). Most of all, as a newlywed of 10 weeks, you have been such a source of joy and inspiration for me and my husband. We both love to cook, but he's the pro and I'm the amateur. Your banter reminds me of our kitchen conversations! Looking forward to seeing you in Tyson's Corner on Nov. 18! Love to both of you as well as Scabigail and Guillermo xxxxoooo!

Another great meal in the can! I’ve been enjoying his stream since everything went sideways and I’m so grateful that you’re keeping it going. I’ve become a dedicated home brewer of beer, cider and mead with hundreds of batches under my belt and I attribute it all to AB’s episode of good eats. Those incarnations of that series are all triumphs of creativity and they will outlive all of us. Cheers and love friends! I have gifts I’d love to mail to you but I don’t know how!

I wil---- I mean, I won't! Try to grill inside. My cast iron grill pan makes enough smoke to look like i'm trying to grill with charcoal inside, though, when i'm using it anyway 😆 The fan, windows, and doors all gotta be open. Worth it though. Another fun episode and I agree, Elizabeth, it looks like a giant curling iron. Have a good week you two! As for guest stars... i'd love for swedish chef to come back! Still one of my favorites.

"Renoite" here that never gets to watch live thanks to work and the west coast time difference. Good Chinese restaurants are somewhat difficult to come by here. Crawfish Asian Cuisine or Sezchuan Garden are decent. The Wok in Sparks (Reno's sister city) is decent. AYCE sushi is really big in Reno. Basque restaurants are popular here as there are many people who immigrated from that area if you want something more unusual. I love you both and never miss a QQ! See you in Reno!

I know I’m late to the party but as far as non-gin and tonic gin drinks go, try a Suffering Bastard. Equal parts gin and bourbon, couple dashes Angostura bitters, ginger beer, squeeze of lime in a rocks glass. I do two oz. each of London dry gin and bourbon, two dashes Angostura, squeeze of lime, and then top off with ginger beer. Delicious!

Your refrigerator is not as bad as mine right now. Geez it is really cluttered. I am cleaning it out tomorrow! I can't wait for the hot sauce to be on sale on your website. Can't get to the show unfortunately. I will most likely buy several bottles at one time. I've been eating Outer Aisle Cauli Thins for ages now. They sell the small ones in Costco in packs of 14. They freeze really well too. I also like Trader Joe's Jicama Wraps for tacos.

If it's possible, maybe some local chefs to you that are doing some majorly awesome things, and we haven't see much of on national programs? Honestly, some of the best cooking I have ever had in my life was from folks in smaller restaurants and cafés in the Carolinas/Georgia/Alabama area.

The bearded butchers on youtube bought a property across from their shop, that was an enormous space and included a diner with full commercial hoods... they did something like this. The fire marshal was a fan, saw the video, and came over to tell them that this was an absolute no-no. They planned on doing it commercially, but he said even for personal use... NO!
