I think that Amazon Prime is probably the most stable streaming service available right now, and most people have it just because we rely on Amazon so much. I would watch another season of Iron Chef, but I really prefer non-competition cooking shows right now. I'd love something like Good Eats, but I'd LOVE to see Alton and Elizabeth doing a food travel show! I seriously want the first episode to be in France, visiting the restaurant Alton referenced in his Good Eats episode about Bouillabaisse (assuming that was a real story and not something made up for TV).

Thanks again for this week! It’s always a good night on QQuesday! The dish was New York Times Cooking recipe Red Curry Lentils With Sweet Potatoes and Spinach by Lidey Heuck Modifications included upping the spices across the board. AB suggested using chicken broth instead of veggie for more body. They didn’t have any spinach or rice, so they did without and still rated the recipe highly. The drink was Nerds with Knives’ Thai Basil Gimlet by Emily Clifton Modifications included extra gin, extra lime, and some ginger The Fissler vitavit comfort manual is available online in English, but strangely the English version on their site isn’t … in … English? See you all next week! Stay safe everybody!

Lower the heat and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the lentils are just tender, 20 to 25 minutes Add the coconut milk and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has reduced and the lentils are creamy, 15 to 20 minutes Add the spinach and stir until just wilted, 2 to 3 minutes. Take the pan off heat and stir in the lime juice and salt if desired Garnish with cilantro.

Omg. I remember being drilled on regularly fiddling with the jiggly thingy on a pressure cooker because it might otherwise explode, back in the 1950s. I never realized there was a previous, more reliable, generation of them.
@carolineconnelly8620
Жыл бұрын
Those explosions were serious business. Even being too impatient could be quite dangerous! Force off the pressure cooker lid before the float valve has dropped, and you could be in for a serious world of hurt. I’ve an old 23-at canning pressure cooker. It has a dial, not a float. When I first used it, the dial was not calibrated. Did you know that those lids can become airborne, high-velocity, heavy projectiles? Then there’s a question of high-pressure steam on skin. Don’t be like me! 😆 I cannot recommend enough that people fully check out their used equipment before use. Also, in the US contact the local extension office for pressure canning classes.

Hi QQ Gang! Inspired by the Red Curry Lentil dish that A&E made on Tuesday night, I went ahead and made it as well tonight. I gotta tell you, it is delicious!! So rich and creamy. The Red curry paste and the coconut milk and sweet potatoes and lentils all come together really nicely with a ton of flavor to boot. I had some fresh kale handy, so I used that instead of spinach, I just added it earlier than I would have added the spinach (when putting in the coconut milk). All I could find pepper wise was a jalapeno, and unless you are completely hot adverse, I think a slightly hotter pepper would add a little additional zip. Really really good though. Give it a try!
