Elizabeth, your animal is an Ermine- it's basically a Stoat with a white winter coat and quite beautiful, I did a paper on them in school so I was mildly obsessed for a while- my power animal is a Turkey Vulture. Another lovely song and fleur arrangement too- the right side of the screen really felt so empty without encroaching foliage a few weeks ago. Don't really care what time the show comes up, as long as I'm aware of when I need to be on to watch and relax/hang out. Have a good week you two! You aren't alone in feeling depressed/bleh about a whole lot of things. The last couple weeks have been particularly rough, but I've gotten around it by (almost) disconnecting from a lot of social media and internet things.

Come very early spring, find birch trees that have just put on their little nubbins - you will know them when you see them. Use them to infuse vodka. This was our backup in college (Russian majors) when we learned we could not find buffalo grass vodka. By my senior year, we made (infused) twelve different types of 100 proof vodka, including birch nubbin. Do not diss it until you have tried it.

Your fridge looks a lot like mine. I don't know whether to be amused or worried...and yes, I even have white wine...a Reisling...in my veggie drawer...I loved visiting Mexico...a little village called New Jerusalem outside of Ciudad Acuna. Very loving people. We ate breakfast on our last day there, outdoors in a light rain shower, including the freshest home made cheese I've ever tasted. I'd love to travel and taste the real food eaten by normal, everyday people...but I'm 60 and living with minimal money...not complaining...thanks for letting me ramble, in case anybody reads this.💋

I just want to say that I'm so glad I could finally catch you live! I have been binging on your QQ videos the last two weeks and I enjoy having them run when I cook. Cooking often stresses me out (a bit of a nerdy perfectuonist) but it is a daily necessity as my developed food allergies do not allow me to eat out ever. However, seeing as you guys seem to fumble around as you gather and garner your wits and sustenance to put together a meal similarly enough to my own struggle of cooking, you guys help me relax. So by the time you guys are eating your soup, I'm eating my chocolate chip cookie dough. P.S. I'm a geographer so I would love a globe tour (are they all polital globes?) and it makes sense that the kimchi got lost there because it probably wanted to travel around after being quarantined in the fridge. At least, if I was the lunch I, that is where I would be found. XD

Since Elizabeth has never been "South of the Border" maybe one of your shows should be about their food. I do not mean the stuff we are all familiar with but the real foods of Mexico or South American. Many people think that their food is all Tacos, Burritos, Enchiladas, and Chile Rellenos; not knowing some of the wonderful soups, stews, and seafood that is really eaten there. Maybe one day it will inspire her to visit their countries. It doesn't need to be anything fussy or complicated and much of what is used is staple Hispanic pantry goods.

My mother thought beets were sweet, and good. I on the other hand thought they tasted like nasty dirt. Raised in the 60's back when a clean plate was required to leave the table, it took an hour to just get the evil beets down. Fast forward about 50 yrs, a dear friend from England surprised me last Christmas with an array of treats with Mrs Bridges Beetroot & Orange Chutney. I sampled before really reading the label, and oh my the dance of my tongue inside my mouth was a dance of delight. I licked my lips to hopefully find whatever remnant was left. This delicious concoction paired with pork, is but a dream. Still would rather eat spooluge(sp)or whatever that foam was called than beets. Yuck! Great show you two, see you here next week.

I'm sorry you had bad experiences with Canada. I have only been to Quebec and my own province of Newfoundland & Labrador. And NL is entirely unique - not really like Canada in general at all. 2 types of German bread! ❤️ You need to come and visit when everything is opening up again, we have wine, too. :) Nobody likes us Germans, either. 😄 We also have a weird German kimchi called Sauerkraut. 😁 Could you go to Sweden with your QQ food journey? On sleeplessness: stop getting upset about it if you can, upset makes it worse. Explore it and what is going through your mind, how your body feels apart from tired. You might e.g. have mental/sensory overload, eaten something too heavy, gone to bed too early/too late, have the phone too close etc. A blue light filter on the phone could also help. Apart from the usual relaxation techniques (yoga, progressive muscle relaxation, Feldenkrais, etc.) and exercise, warm relaxed/massaged feet can also make a difference if you like that. If you have a good herbalist around you could ask them for advice, too. And cut news consumption if you haven't already. Too many news are such a sleep killer. ❤️
