These are simple yet delicious Indian Cookies, that melt in your mouth.
A childhood favourite.
Ingredients
1 cup All Purpose Flour ( Maida)
1/4 cup Gram flour (Channa Atta)
1/4 cup Semolina (Soji)
3/4 cup powdered sugar
OR 1/2 cup sugar ground to powder
1/2 teaspoon Cardamon powder
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg powder
1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Pure Ghee
10 Almonds Sliced
Method
Preheat your oven @ 160 degrees Celsius
In a bowl mix together 1 cup All Purpose Flour ( Maida), 1/4 cup Gram flour (Channa Atta), 1/4 cup Semolina (Soji), 3/4 cup powdered sugar or 1/2 cup sugar ground to powder, 1/2 teaspoon Cardamon powder,
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg powder, 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder,
1/4 teaspoon Baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Add to this 1/2 cup Pure Ghee and mix everything forming a sticky dough.
Refrigerate this dough for 15 minutes
Refrigerating this dough will make if firm and easy to work with.
Take it out of the refrigerator and with a teaspoon scoop out a large amount and place it in your palm to form a round ball.
Flatten this ball in the centre and with your pointer finger make a small hole or dent in the centre on the flattened round cookie ball.
Place all these cookie balls on a baking tray
Take 10 Almonds and slice them, place some of the sliced Almonds in the centre of each cookie, over the dent or hole made.
Bake these cookies for 15 minutes @ 160 degrees Celsius or until slightly gold in color
Remove from Oven and let it cool for an hour before eating
