This is great, but how do you stop it from creating a curve at the bottom? I see the first part you masked out has a straight edge across the bottom, but the polishing made it curved. 🤔🤔

Thanks, I have a problem with my circle stroke mask, it is not sharp it's like pixelated. I don't why what I need to do requieres a sharp circle mask. Hope you can help me
@AleksMarkeljFoto
8 жыл бұрын
If the mask is pixelated that means the object is not subdivided enough. So you need to subdivide it a few more times (Ctrl+D) or set a higher value in Dynamesh (if you are using Dynamesh) like 125 or higher.

I'm new to polygroups: can't you group by surface normal do do the same thing as masking each edge??
@AleksMarkeljFoto
8 жыл бұрын
+RossHildick3D There are multiple ways how to do the same effect. So just find the one that fits you best and use it. I just wanted to share the one Im using.

+3D tutorials AM No, I was asking if what I just suggested was a good way to do it or not? or if its possible? Im very new to this process. Thanks for the reply. good video!
@AleksMarkeljFoto
8 жыл бұрын
+RossHildick3D Yap, it can be polygrouped by Normals, you just need to find the right setting (mine worked at 15), You may still get a couple of polygroups that are really small and can make issues when Polishing by Groups. With Transpose Mask tool (which is shown in this video) you have more manual control where the mask ends.

@AleksMarkeljFoto

+RossHildick3D Well, if you don`t have or know how to use other software like Maya, Max etc. its good to know that it can be done in ZBrush.
