thank you very much! a question about booleans: on the subtool list there are buttons to make a subtool additive substractive and a third one, i assumed intersect, but that hasn't worked for me, do you know if it is a similar secret somehow? thank you in advance

Instead of using a cube, wouldn't it be easier to simply use a clip brush to cut the main the cylinder?

The video is about how to solve the issue of using Dynamesh on objects that have multiple polygroups.

I have only one polygroup but when I activate dynamesh to help out when I am using the move tool it's still just dragging out the polygons instead of creating new ones :c
@AleksMarkeljFoto

After using Move tool you have to redynamesh the subtool to get new polygons. Ctrl + click & drag on the canvas to redynamesh. Move tool by itself doesn`t create new polygons (there are some exceptions - watch this tutorial Quick tip tutorial: Hard edged Lo-poly extrusions in ZBrush ) but generaly the move tool just stretches the existing polygons - thats why dynamesh comes in handy (when redynameshing).

***** oooh I see, I missunderstood something, I tried this and its working but sometimes after I restart the program it wont, dynamesh is already active but not working and when I divide or redynamesh nothing happens :s
@AleksMarkeljFoto

kutkuknight you have to actually make a change on the model to be able to redynamesh

If I want to fill a shell how would I do that?
@AleksMarkeljFoto

You could go out of Dynamesh then Ctrl+shift+click on outer part (so only that one is shown) then under Geometry/Modify Topology/Del Hidden. Dynamesh it again and it will close the holes. You can also just click on Close Holes under Geometry/Modify Topology.
