Looks like the muzzle energy is around 1827ft-lbs which is pretty impressive. I usually try to keep it under 1800ft-lbs with CFE-223 or I will start to see pierced primers (CCI-400). Suggestion for a video if you are taking requests... It would be neat to see a Varget vs VV N540 comparison. I remember you using Varget for a long range competition and N540 with the 112gr MB. Could be a cool match load showdown.

Rob, like you I use Gordon's Reloading software and use it to gauge load velocity. Now that I have a LabRadar I'm curious to see how close the actual velocity vs the predicted velocity will be. Great video!

A bit of pressure signs but not terrible. I agree with your thoughts on backing off 0.5g. I would likely back off a full grain & go up 0.3g with 3 shot group and another 0.2g 3 shot group just to observe any difference in pressure and velocity working up to that 0.5g less from this charge you ran here. Thanks.

I use reloader 17 quite a bit with another cartridge, I won't mention because of hidden pressure issues. R-17 is temp. Sensitive be careful. If you can find some AR-comp powder I think you will find better and more predictable results .

i found HSM ammo in 6mmARC. They loaded a 95gr SST with a velocity of 3027fps. Im loading 95gr sst , 95gr nosler balistic tip and 100gr nosler accubonds all with lever revolution. So far the only i issues was i didnt seat to long. once i figured the seating depth/length i was shootl1/2 inch groups.

I had been following 6 ARC early on but just now getting into it, just recieved a Uintah Precision 6mm ARC bolt action upper that fits on to an AR-15 lower. I am also looking into reloading and trying to learn. My understanding is the Hornady Factory loads are test on a 24 inch barrel but they limit the pressures due to using AR-15 style bolts having a very thin face. The bolt guns dont have this issue and shouild be able to handle higher pressures. The Hornady loading app has recommended gas gun pressures at 52000 psi and bolt guns at 62000 psi. I understand you still need to watch your brass but seems that your load velocities are on par or slightly more than factory loads (105gr 24 inch barrel 2750 MV) limited for AR bolts. Why would they put out separate load data for bolt guns if the brass was the limiting factor with 10000 more PSI?

How did the primer pockets hold up after this? Do you have a go/no go gauge? Also, Re15 is an excellent powder for 105’s for accuracy but at lower velocities.

I've seen a lot of guys ask about H380 in 6ARC and nobody seems to have tried, but most guys think it has too slow of a burn rate. RL-17 is slower than H380... So I think we now know that H380 isn't too slow.
@RobsReloading

I dont have any h380 or would test it. It depends how bulky it is. R17 is pretty fine for a stick powder and that's what allows it to work in arc.

@@RobsReloading Well I took a stab with 100gr Interlock and H380.... 0.6" 5-shot group from my 16" gasser. Best group that gun ever shot, next best had been 108 match factory loads at 0.87" groups. Couldn't get under 1.5" with the Interlock with blc2, Varget, or LVR. Need to chrono the H380 yet, was a crappy MN day when I tried it.

@@RobsReloading Well my 29.0 gr of H380 under 100gr Interlock just chrono'd @ 2575 out of my 16" gasser. Definitely looks like Hornady's load data has definitely missed the boat on some powders with slightly slower burn rates than what is listed. Brass looks good too, and H380 isn't too bulky and had space to go higher.

Question:: Why do you keep saying 2800 is to fast for the 6Arc?? I know my 244 is a different animal but I'm easy over 3000 with 95gr bullets, going to load some 100 in it soon to see what I get. So a serious question... why is 2800 to fast for 6arc ??

Not scary at all. I get 2765fps with factory 105 black ammo out of my 22" AR. So 2800fps out of a bolt gun is about the speed I would be looking to achieve with the right powder.

You're to hot. I quit listening to brass to find when it made pressure. IF your groups are vertical, bump the powder up some. Then they'll go to a "weather report" horizontal grouping. Bump it up some more just a bit and it should tighten up. Once it's to hot it will usually show it by shooting 2 close and 1 flyer or also in your 200 yard target, 3 and 2. That's a sure sign the rifles hot regardless of brass signs
