Come on an inside shop tour with Racetec Pistons in Huntington Beach CA. Watch some of the highest quality engineering & manufacturing processes in all of motorsports.
Great product, very good quality parts. We've used them often when clients who previously bought their parts and brought them to our shop for machine and assembly work. I spoke with a gentlemen from Racetec at the PRI show in Indianapolis to inquire about dealing direct with their company.

The machine shop doing my build recomended racetec for my pistons. So we ordered them on Feb 11th 2016. We were told 1.5 to three weeks for delivery. Just recieved them last week, 10 WEEKS LATER. Three weeks ago I started calling them inquiring as to the status. Tim and Randy whom I spoke with assured me each time they were going through inspection. That would be on monday, on Friday I would call back to see if they had been shipped. Got the run around each time, both guys claiming they needed to check with the shop and would call me back to advise. Never recieved one call back. Very frustrating to work with. The motor goes in daily driver and I had to rent a car for 7 weeks while i waited on this place. I had ligned up a ride for only the first 5 weeks. Cant say if its a good product yet as the rebuild is not done, irregaurdless, i will never recomend or use Race tec again. They made no effort and seemed to care less about the customer.

You have to understand that February is a VERY busy time for parts manufacturers as the racing season has either begun or is just around the corner. Special oider ANY part about that time and you'll likely see delays... been there many times. You should have ordered the parts before you tore down the engine... hope they worked well for you.

APP supplies forgings internationally/globally, however most APP forged products are forged in the USA using spec raw materials mostly domestically produced by ALCOA. APP is a major supplier of forged components for many if not most motorsports manufacturers including Koenigsegg and are an approved and preferred supplier for every major or prime aerospace, government and military manufacturer on the planet, their quality is unrivaled.

I am no engine expert but I am pretty sure you have to have the engine tore to know what size piston to have them make.
@southjerseysound7340
8 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily,the only time that is required is if you're starting with a really beat engine or after a catastrophic failure.You really want the pistons before you have the cylinders machined so that you dont have any issues with parts not fitting.
