Great video! We swapped a radio in an hour thanks in part to this. No life story, no blah blah blah! Thank you!! Bam! Also, tip: not to lose those screws, stick a little rare earth magnet on your impact driver's shaft near the drill end and it will magnetize the entire impact shaft. That will hold the 10mm screws for you when you take them out and put them in.

It doesn't really matter where its at as long as there is room to remove the panel. It is usually recommended that you disconnect the battery but nit necessary. It just reduces the damage if something happens. The key is on but engine not running when I shift the car but I reccomed putting it in park and removing the key once that trim is off.
@carolloveskiwis

Probably a dumb question, but when you remove the panel is the shift in Drive or 2nd according to your video? Also, should you disconnect the car battery when working on the radio? Is the key in ACC? Couldn't tell. Sorry for all the questions, and thanks again!

I've been at a loss searching for a clear answer; I have a 2008 Corolla (same generation interior) and the light that illuminates the temperature knob (rightmost knob of the three) has stopped working. If I replace the right green bulb in that white box containing the switches behind the face plate and it doesn't work, could it be a fuse problem? @sm1ttysav Also in many cars my customers have had issues with an unrelated module not working after unplugging the battery. Because of the power surge. I'm not saying that you shouldn't disconnect the battery but sometimes it can cause damage. This is a can that I personally would not disconnect the battery on.
