Got myself 3 Metro-Cammells for £20 a piece. K-types coming next week. Currently the formation for the Master Cutler, but I need a hadrians bar and a normal metro-cammell for the Tees-Tyne. Keep safe.

Returned my first 1501 - missing drain cocks, brake rigging bent down under the cab, glue marks, terrible paint finish like faded blackboard paint, no cream line within the grey line of the lining, wonky handrails and steps, dust on the top of the tanks on a brand new model. Replacement 1501 - missing drain cocks again (other side), bent down brake rigging (again) and chimney on wonky this time. That’s on its way back too and I’ve just asked for a refund - can’t be bothered anymore. Totally gutted because I’ve wanted a model 15xx since I first saw and rode behind 1501 herself many years ago.

I seen various videos about this model their is always something wrong with them. It's not just Rapido it seems to be across all manufactures I am starting to think the Chinese have lost interest in making model trains I have heard they can make more money on other products. I don't buy new any more mainly due to price and faults and got fed up with posting them back.

This is what Sam found with his. Obviously they’re not being quality checked before packing because they all seem to have different issues. Sam’s had a wonky and badly fitted funnel - really hard to ignore. What’s the point of adding all that detail if it’s badly fitted or falls off ? better to leave it out…What a shame ☹️. Spoiling a ship for a halfpenny worth of tar as they used to say back in the day. Then again if you apply the 3ft rule, are these details really noticeable ? Mind you I’m saying that as a 59yr old so my eyesight isn’t as good as it was when I was 25 🙄. Are these Chinese made like everything else these days? No fine detail on the old Triang Hornby and Hornby Dublo / Wrenn locos and they’re fun to update and detail yourself. They’re also generally a damn sight cheaper! And if you apply the 3ft rule… I’ve just done a service on my ancient Dublo LMS 0-6-2T, new magnet and armature. It left Binn’s Road in 1939… and runs beautifully. Nothing falls off ! OK admittedly there isn’t a lot TO fall off 😂 How many of these new hugely expensive locomotives will still be running in 2112 ? (Excellent Rush album Btw 😂) I believe the « waddle » is prototypical for a 15XX 😂

Hi 100% agree, unfortunately I have had to return mine due to too much play in the bearings causing the wheels to wobble. Watch your brake block to wheel clearance... it's a real shame as you say. One went straight back to the retailer the second has now gone back to Rapido for a repair/replacement. kzitem.info/news/bejne/on5uzaVmq4pjpH4

This model does sound disappointing. It's such a shame as I was really impressed with the Rapido Hunslets. I finished up buying all 7 models.
