@@Equestriangirl42 unfortunately I do know where your coming from but, if your lesson barn is good they will have fitted saddles. I’m not trying to be rude don’t get me wrong, but without a fitting saddle it will make it harder for you and will make the horses sore a half pad won’t do anything if the saddle is bridging or or to wide/too narrow unfortunately

definitely wouldn't call this a fail. horse just got a little excited and sped up for a second, but you didn't freak out or fall off. good job :D (i do agree with some other people here that it is a bit weird for your trainer to be trying to teach you how to jump. they should probably let you get comfortable with cantering first. even if you're on a different horse, you should still be comfortable with the canter. this has nothing to do with you, i'm just questioning your trainer a bit. either way, you have a bright future on horses and handled this really well, great job!!!)

also, there's nothing wrong with switching trainers/riding places. i finally found the right trainer a few years ago and it's made a HUGE difference. my horse is completely different, he's incredibly happy, an amazing dressage horse now (highest scores for under eighteen for the whole year award :D) and most importantly i am a MUCH better rider now than if i had stayed with my old trainers. it might be worth looking around and taking a few lessons at other places just to try. nothing serious, just evaluate what you want to learn and maybe try a few trainers that focus on specific disciplines. especially if you don't have your own horse, looking around is a good idea. best of luck. i'm not a trainer, but if you have any questions i'm absolutely open to giving the best answers i can.

I think she just needs more practice. She seems to be doing great. Riding just takes practice, and going over a small pole isn’t that hard, it’s just like cantering on the ground but the horse steps over something. She also has great balance. She stayed on very well 😊
@hitago4551

@@definitelynothallie So where did i blame her? Its obviously the trainers fault?! She has clearly not enough balance, even without the poles she is way too far forward with her body and we dont even talk about the perma streched arms (the reason she almost fall). And i guess after working with horses for 15 years i know "anything".
