The fact that official boar hunters, Australians, and biologists admit that if a boar got to this size, the damage is comparatively accurate, meaning if a Wild Boar ever DID get that big and pissed off, this movie would become reality.

It's a shame that the only films you ever see anymore that do this are the low budget ones like The Descent. Once they get even a smidgen of financial success a studio snatches it up and attempts to make a sequel that does poorly, because at that point they want to cater to the lowest common denominator, ruining the film's magic. Looking forward to seeing how that one film The Boar manages to play out, considering it uses a similar premise as this film.

Scariest thing about this movie? Aussie razorbacks really ARE that vicious, and they DO like to attack and eat juvenile animals. So a feral boar that grew as big as the one in this film - and remember the "Hogzilla" phenomena in America, and Aussie razorbacks are feral pigs too - would genuinely be as dangerous as the monster in this movie.

Man...I've got a little girl who's around that kid's age...even though this is a pretty far-fetched premise (although, in real life, wild boars really ARE mean, mean critters), it's still hard for me to watch this scene! A child's scream really tears at your heart if you're a parent. I'd have kept running into the woods and tore that boar limb from limb with my bare hands if I were Jake in this scene! But then I guess it'd be a short movie.
@ScotsmanProductions
7 жыл бұрын
Goynes42 I felt the same way about this scene, I'm not a parent or anything, and the idea of a hog tearing through a house like a battering ram and picking up someone's child is insane, but the music, cinematography, and those chilling screams were all so well put together that it made it feel real. I teared up the first time I watched it, and a few times after. That's really masterful filmmaking, considering this is a killer pig movie...
@cretinousjester3475
6 жыл бұрын
SCOTSMAN Productions: Oddly enough, I think that's why it works. The idea of a "killer pig" is so "OUT THERE" and the boar effects so well done that it pulls it off and leaves the viewer surprised, shocked, and horrified all in one. Ask Australians and American Southerners and they'll tell ya- wild boars ain't no joke.
