Mike, thank you for helping Cap out, and it's nice to see HC is a valued viewer. ❤Patriot You guys must enjoy seeing Patriot succeed in Ukraine, especially in comparison to rival systems. Public perception went from a pre-war stance of "S-400 is probably the best" to "S-400 is definitely the best at watching 1980's cruise missiles hit RU ships in port." I guess the long list of public failures has much to do with operator error, but training and human performance are integral to the system. I still remember that video shot from an apartment building in Kyiv, where Patriot was slinging missiles and helped defeat a massive RU attack. Thanks again. (PS: I would definitely intercept you) 😁

Cool! US Army Field artillery surveyor here...once upon a time. I laid in most of the Patriots in Saudi in Desert Storm way back in the stone age. I started with Lance missile guarding the Fulda Gap, which was much simpler and straight forward. I know the Patriots of today are a totally different animal than the ones we used in 1990. Our Patriots declassified window was pitifully small...which is probably why it was classified as long as I was in. We also had a bunch of HAWKs and guns so next to them it was easy to look good. I heard one of the very first targets we faced in DS, way down south (not one of mine) near Dhahran, the airport battery I think, launched the whole freakin' battery at one target. At 10% you'd actually require 44 missiles to better 99% (and 100% is never actually possible) However, 10% is ridiculously low, so think more: At 50% PK (still low) you only require 7 missiles for a > 99% chance of a kill.

CAP- regarding AEGIS, consider this for some perspective. In the Gulf War there were 120 active AAW shooters, with AEW and EW aupppdt in a radio datalink tracking over 500 coalition aircraft 24 hours a day, plus tracks for ships, oil rigs, Iranian and Iraqi forces, hundreds of data points, geographical points, reference points, airway lines, shipping channels, mine fields, and the list goes on. All of this data was passed without overloading AEGIS or non-AEGIS (NTDS, etc) units despite detecting and tracking over 65.000 during the war- without any blue on blue incidents. I think you greatly underestimate the processing speeds of not only these systems but the speed or bandwidth to exchange all this information by encrypted near real time datalink.

@@JohnDorian-j7x If each missile has a PK of 10%, that means there’s a 90% chance (1 - 0.10) that each missile will miss. To find the overall probability of at least one missile hitting the target when you fire 10 missiles, you can calculate it as follows: First, calculate the probability that all 10 missiles miss: ( 0.90 ) 10 ≈ 0.3487 (0.90) 10 ≈0.3487 (or about 34.87%). Now, subtract that value from 1 to find the probability that at least one missile hits: 1 − ( 0.90 ) 10 ≈ 1 − 0.3487 ≈ 0.6513 1−(0.90) 10 ≈1−0.3487≈0.6513 (or about 65.13%). So, when you fire 10 missiles with a PK of 10% each, the combined probability of at least one missile hitting the target is approximately 65%, not 100%. This illustrates how probabilities compound and why firing multiple rounds doesn't guarantee success.

9 missiles getting through out of 180 is a LOT more realistic in terms of how insanely good American AD is. Now consider the fact that AEGIS Ashore can link EVERY system together and have it all talk to each other, and that there would be F-35s in the sky with AWACS as well, transmitting targeting data to assets in various places to ensure best POK. Yes, AEGIS ashore is what youve heard it is. The concept since it began development was "Any target, any launcher, any interceptor". Basically meaning "Any system can talk to any other system and use any interception capabilities that system has to attack the target." The purpose of AEGIS is to connect ALL systems in an area to each other, and figure out which system has the best possible chance of intercepting a target, based on its location, and its loadout, then USE that system by feeding it targeting data. And thats EXACTLY what AEGIS is doing. Its already operational. If you want more information on that topic, talk to Habitual Linecrosser. He's worked on systems related to it.

Cap, I think there's another difference between real life and DCS that needs to be added into the mix : the process of running the simulation. Not only does your lone PC have to do all the calculations that an actual THAD battery would have to do; but it's also running calculations for the flight profile of each incoming missile and each SAM. I think we can safely assume that this doesn't happen in real life - the computers operating the IADS only have to worry about tracking targets and guiding interceptors. They don't also have to represent the laws of physics at the same time!

Plus, these missiles aren't hypersonic and can't hit the target accurately. Today, I also saw a video where Iran completely destroyed the X-band radar of the Zionist "Arrow" system, and it was censored. However, the surveillance cameras had been hacked, and they showed this hilarious scene. I don't know! Maybe this difference is due to the advancements of AIs and their ever-increasing power, progressing by the hour. By the way! I’m glad you finally came out from under the covers. 😄Thank you! 😊

The fired missiles had the ability to maneuver the explosive warhead. Meanwhile, here the target was a single point and the defense system only had to protect one point. In reality, this was not the case. In addition, my guess is that the success rate of defense missiles inside the DCS is much higher than reality. On top of that, anti-radar missiles were also used, and they hit the radars with the precision you saw in the hacked video. About defense missiles in reality and comparison with DCS, for example, we saw in David's Sling that the entire absence of their own imaginary missiles in this world. Hitting 😂😂

@@CLGL9-yv8kh even at twenty years old when doing the task they’re made for they’ll still likely be faster than anything you can get off the shelf. Sure today you could have a risk5/arm chip custom made pretty easily but good luck matching what Raytheon/lockheeds talent, facilities, and budget can dump out. Iran in the next attack said that it will fire way more missiles on isreal if isreal retaliate, now imagine 300 missile? Even with 2 thads and 3 arrow air defence system it would just take down 50-100 missile maximum and also not to forget that the US sent about just 70 thad missile to isreal. so even with all of that defence iran will still be able to hits its targets if 4 or more missiles was sent for every target then thats almost 100% hit chance

As a former US Navy submariner and current Reliability Engineer I appreciate have people like Mike to act as an SME (subject matter expert). Retooling this scenario to aim for realism is great and target priority is important but I hope you guys take into account that much of the shooting from Iran, Hamas, Hezebollah is intentionally aimed at civilian population centers to cause maximum death and destruction among non-military personnel. While military leaders tend to prioritize military asset protection that isn’t always the biggest or most sort after target. I’ve always felt this would be a struggle for Israel, protecting the military assets to defend and prosecute the war while minimizing civilian deaths.

Bullshit, tell me how many Israeli civilians have been killed? Israel carpet bombs everyone while claiming to be the most moral army. Idf the only ones killing many civilians without care it's called genocide, and USA and all your navy buddies are all participating in it. Have you heard of the arrest warrant for war criminal bb?

It is not Iran and the groups you mentioned that killed 40,000 people in Gaza. In its last two attacks, Iran has only attacked military areas. You thought he couldn't plow Tel Aviv instead of Novatim?

This video is the equivalent of tucking the nafo trolls in with their comfort blanket aftet they had their cup of night copium. Western air defenses have been extremely over-hyped and the few studies of actual battle experience always show them to massively underperform.

I haven't seen any evidence of this anywhere , if anything, the Ukraine conflict has shown them to be very capable whereas the likes of S400 and their ship born equivalents have proven to be quite poor. Thus far repeatedly failing to spot Storm Shadow , Neptune's and even Drones the size of cessna's. Turkey even said their low altitude and stealth detection capabilities were far worse than touted

I honestly don't understand what you're trying to say, but I'll respond based on my best guess. "Western air defense" didn't fail to defend Israel in the real-world, as there was no critical infrastructure damage and no reported loss of life (last I checked). The missiles that are shown impacting (real world video) are hitting empty areas and Israeli air bases, but satellite images confirmed the air base hits were all on empty areas of the base or runways/taxiways, all of which were quickly repaired as they train to do so. Cap is referencing his own video last week, where, in DCS, he failed to create an IADS system to stop all 180 missiles. This is almost exclusively due to DCS limitations, and the fact all 180 missiles are being targeted for intercept, rather than the actual Israli systems which target the missiles predicted to impact at populated areas or of high strategic value. Finally, regarding the fictional Kharg Island attack, Cap was simulating a mission largely based on F-35I's, so Iran wouldn't have launched a full-scale response if they can't detect the F-35 hundreds of kilometers away from their borders. Cap included F-15 and F-16 jets in the video, primarily because the human pilots don't enjoy flying the 5th gen. aircraft like the F-35. He has said this before, so any 5th gen. missions will either be AI only or a mix of 5th gen. and 4th gen. human players, even if it's just to give them some fun while not being realistic to use 4th gen.

You know you have lost the missile war financially when the defense costs tens of thousands times more than what the attacker spends on drones and missiles.

@@papayne Wait until you see when the Western world's defense and social economy crashes, then you will understand that collateral damage to civilians and society weighs lightly in the political world, but you can still believe/pray/hope you're right but the balance number of the cost speaks for itself, it is unsustainable in the long run.

@@gurra63able What's more likely, the US and Israel to run out of cash or Iran? Regardless of your answer to that, it would happen in a full-scale war rather than trading drones/missiles and defending. Iran's ballistic missiles are also quite expensive, especially in comparison to their respective GDP. The DCS stats in this video aren't accurate, at all. Cap is using a generic ballistic missile, THAAD is being used instead of ARROW 2/3, PAC 3 MSE is being used instead of David's Sling, and SM-3/SM-6/ESSM are being used instead of Iron Dome/David's Sling/ARROW. Finally, the real Israeli IADS also predicts the ballistic landing point of the missiles and only intercepts if the impact is predicted in a populated/critical area. This is why there was so much video of missile hits related to the attack depicted in this video, yet the damage to infrastructure and injuries were minimal. It most likely cost more for Israel to defend against the latest Iranian attack than it cost Iran to actually execute the attack, but I don't think it's truly a concern at this specific point in time.
