I love this version and not just his singing, his playing is fantastic as well.

This is for me the best version of this song. You can feel his emotions in this song. Very powerful. Thanks for doing the video. Enjoy the weather out west / enjoy the heat.

This version never gets old because Jeff Buckley. Jeff was on a different level.

It sounds like he says hallelujah different every time he sings it.

Great track. I'd REALLY recommend watching Andy Wallace (who produced both this and the Grace album) talking about this on the Mix With The Masters channel. Really clever how it was arranged, tracked and mixed. So subtle and all planned around capturing a performance...which they clearly did. Old skool. Also very moving, as they were clearly good friends and I guess he really misses Jeff 😞

Great analysis and reaction. Such an emotional song the way Jeff sings it. I love your guitar pkaying while explaining certain parts of the composition. Safe travels!

Thanks for this reaction. I really prefer Leonard's Version. Check out his live performance in London. A true gentleman, and amazing artist.

Guitar is all Jeff himself. Something special about a singer who can captivate with just their lyrics, their delivery, and music, and all played by himself. Tori Amos, Cat Stevens, Neil Young. They are perfectly on time because they can produce it all themselves. Timings can change when you're controlling the whole song.

I would say Jeff did the definitive version of this, much like Johnny Cash on Hurt, which was originally by Nine Inch Nails of course. I think sometimes Jeff was for me a bit too elaborate and unrestrained in some of his songs, where it seems like he was trying to do every vocal trick possible to show off his skills. But this is perfectly restrained and incredibly well recorded. The simple guitar and vocals with that gorgeous reverb absolutely sounds like he's singing in an empty cathedral. Really powerful.

Thanks. Agree. And The Johnny Cash version of Hurt brought me to tears.

I use this comparison, too. Both versions of those songs belong to those two guys, respectively. I do feel, though, that the live studio take (of which there is a video) is even >better< than this one. kzitem.info/news/bejne/2m53vXqccHdylmksi=eJ85FOVJPvHkvL8o

@@jiwi736 Woah, somehow the live version evaded me. Thanks for the link, this version is indeed even better! Although the original seems like a single take as well, though I could be mistaken

Great reaction, the same thing z to me with the song, I heard it everywhere. But no one does it like Jeff, believe me no one, not even Pentatonix, since it is very “mainstream”. Jeff has a unique style and I only listen to his version. Could you please react to the song “Forget Her” by Jeff Buckley please, no one asks for that song but it is phenomenal. Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱

Had a friend that would play "Grace" on repeat + it's like candy floss, it's good but, I can only consume so much. Bang on with the "Freebird" analogy. If I had £1 for every time I heard it at an open mic I may get drunk enough to enjoy it.

Hey Erol, I subbed to your channel for The Warning reactions. That said, this is a fabulous cover but my favorite is still the PTX (Pentatonix) a cappella version (746 million views and counting). I highly recommend that you check it out, you won't be disappointed!
