Like even if they don't add new members for a while like there should be at least 1 or 2 real U comebacks every year ( love coming home but it's really just 127 main vocal line ) like give us U comebacks with members that are free across units ( good distribution between wayv, dream and 127)

I mean... No. Not all idols are "insanly talented" Thats Just not true. They may be very hard working and have lots of skill but not 100 % of the idols are very talented sometimes they are average or good enough for the role and debut because they fit the concept or visual. Im an exol but i cant say kai and sehun are equaly insanly talented. Kai is an amazing dancer his whole body moves and facial expressions are always on point he is talented. Sehun got scouted by his visuals and had to train sooo hard to improve his singing dancing and rap and even tho his talent is mostly dance he isnt as good as kai. He is talented yes but what makes him an idol are his skills. Different People different backgrounds different levels of talent but both perfect for the job
@lala7963

I definitely agree too. Obviously every idol is talented enough to be able to debut, but not every idol is there for the amount of talent they have. Some idols are their for their personality/looks and some are there for their singing/rapping/dancing, some are there for a mixture of things. There’s no doubt that there are certain idols out there who aren’t bad at their job or anything, but probably weren’t exactly at the top as trainees, however, might have had more of a chance of debuting because they have a particular personality or appearance that is generally appealing or marketable. That isn’t a bad thing though, and a lot of these types of idols bring a lot to the group as mood makers for variety shows or attract potential new fans in order for the group to grow. So while definitely not every idol is highly as talented as the average idol, some are there simply there to serve other purposes and people need to accept that it’s okay too and it’s just a marketing strategy for companies. Anyway, all idols are talented it’s just some are obviously more than others

i agree with your dance cover opinion i don't find it wrong when a group changes the choreography a bit because i feel like it is an artistic choice to change the choreo to fit the group's style more in my opinion. as long as the cover is respectable i don't find it to be that serious to get mad over a change in choreo (it's not like they are putting on wigs and blatantly making fun of them?) i personally like when there is a slight difference in dance covers because it makes it more interesting and feels like i am not only just watching a direct copy from the original. i would compare it to the equivalent of someone taking a popular pop song and making a rock/indie cover out of it. it's not to be disrespectful it's just adjusting it to fit their personal style!

Unpopular opinion: Bts/Blackpink/or other idols should consult their fans to stop fanwars. I know that they had know idea or control on what their fandom is doing but if they told there fans to stop the fanwars i think that can drop the toxicity of kpop fans. Example of this is Bang Chan from stray kids, back when nct releases sit down, stays said that it sounded like 3racha(??idk im not a stay) but chan explained his fans the reason and i forgot the next but i think he also complimented 127 and told fans to send their support to them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an army, but I think both BTS and Blackpink have better things to do then deal with a bunch of childish fans, and they ARE extremely childish, so even if they do speak out about fanwars, I doubt the toxic fans will stop. Also ultimately they're artists who need to focus on their music and dance, they're not the parents of their fans nor are they responsible for their fans, so they shouldn't have to tell them how to behave, the fans should know on their own. Toxic fans didn't become toxic because they joined a fandom, they were already toxic and they happened to join a fandom, so no matter what, toxic fans will remain toxic unless they decide to grow tf up. The whole 'Sit Down' thing was a genuine misunderstanding, but when it comes to certain fanwars, people just wanna fight, without reason, so neither BTS nor Blackpink can clear anything up, since nothing is there to be cleared.

@@moon.937 I would be really inclined to agree with you because yes, BTS is too big to have to worry about small things, but some of the things 'childish' armys/blinks have said/done has really impacted the kpop community as a whole. groups have been wrongfully claimed as plagiarizing, copying, disrespecting bts(which you may see as no big deal; it's just mean words, but think about the groups who work their asses of for a comeback only to have the entirety of twt tell them they plagiarized [yes armys/blinks practically own twt and we know it]) and fans have been told to k*** themselves, and have been told that their opinion in anything doesn't matter because they don't stan groups like bts/blackpink. In a community where the groups are so closely tied to their fans (unlike western celebrities per say) some of these fans are way out of line and we all know the only people who can call them out properly are their group. In no way am I saying this is only an army/blink thing, (personally I think it's more of an American fan thing) but these are the two most prominent groups, and most fans have already been called out by their group (Doyoung always makes sure us nctzens don't get too stuck in dreamworld, and that's exactly what these fans need; someone to tell them that they're not as important as they think and unfortunately it needs to be the group)

I dunno man. I want to agree that expressing honest but negative opinions is okay, but there IS a real problem in the community. I was watching the Itzy stream and it was FULL of comments calling the girls untalented, black pink is superior, twice is superior, they're ugly, they're flops, it was brutal. The volume of negativity in a space aimed at FANS of Itzy was staggering. And like you, I am an adult. I don't really care, I've seen way worse, I have tough skin. But Itzy is a young group. Many of their fans are like my niece, young and impressionable. They're learning that being negative under the guise of being "honest" excuses bullying. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Even comments about idols that are negative bother me. Does it help Lia to have not one, not hundreds, but thousands of comments saying she's a bad dancer? It must take a toll, even if it's meant in good faith.

I'm a sort of glad that SM backed off of the NCT concept a little. If they were adding a new member every year, the new members would be replacing unpopular members or old members. So Taeil, Chenle and Jeno all would have been on the chopping block and I'm so glad that isn't going to happen now. I love them. Aside from that, they did add the members of WayV and that actually wasn't very long ago so it's not like they abandoned the concept all together. I would like to see them do a LOT more with NCT U and I would like them to maintain an amended version of Dream's concept instead of trying to make them baby 127. They still have baby faces and I think they are about the same age now as other groups that debuted with bright and cute concepts and you can still have Dreams of youth in your early 20's. It's not like they are over the hill yet. Jisung still can't even drink.

With regards to toxic fans of the more popular groups, yeah, they are more well known so have more opportunity to attract toxic people and yes they claim the work the group does as their own so every comment about thwe group they see as a personal attack but I think the fans of these groups are slightly younger and more immature. Also, when there is a large disparity between how much work each member gets and i-a promoted there tends to be more toxic fans (why NCT/Nctzens also is involved in many issues) I never thought NCT's concept could work because there's already too much competition from other companies as the K-pop scene is over saturated as can be seen with not all members getting many/any gigs outside their own yt channel... Also, sm only has a certain budget so they can't just be debuting people all the time. They also like putting already known members in new units so their established fans will follow and they'll have some support while they grow and gain new fans (one reason Mark is everywhere). This is an issue for Dreamzens as sm has stated that the Dreamies will be debuting in new units, but what happens to Dream? They hardly promote each year - it would be the end of the unit and we already deal with schedule conflicts with missing members, which we can live with, but not more splitting - look at WW, he hasn't promoted with 127 in ages (I get the political thing, but still... ). Many younger fans grew with Dream so it really would be horrible if they seice to exist, so the mention of scrapping the graduation system was nice, but the unit is not entirly secure, so the concept for NCT is novel, but not practical... In regards to your views on the male idols dressing and performing in drag, I have no issue and think more men should do it - it's not always a joke to them (many men, including male idols are feminists) - I have gay family members including a very prominent drag queen in my country (professional hair and makeup artist, regular member on radio and TV shows and co-owner of a drag/performance bar) and having more men (especially 'normal' dudes) normalizing drag on national tv and pushing gender stereotypes is a good thing especially in counties that may be more 'traditional'. Why is it seen as bad but when men wore and danced in heels on Starking or men wore make-up on LIpstick Prince they're praised? What about idols like 2AM's Jokwon that kept pushing gender norms? Should he be criticized? No, he sparked discussion which is what we want and need to move forward. I also agree that guys doing a girl group dance in a stronger/more manly way is fine, it's their interpretation, even other women would add their own style to it and group members also do the same more differently/with a different feel. If the guys do it like the girls will they get hate for being misogynistic?

An actual group’s actions and morality plays an important part in how a fandom will act as well. For example, if a K-Pop group is strongly connected to their fandom and shows love, kindness, gratitude, and respect, and a true bond to one another/their fandom, then naturally fans will be influenced and encourage other fans to be the same way. Also, if a group engages with the fandom and “puts them on check” when certain things get out of hand, then it also prevents toxicity from developing. When a group calls out their own fandom (with respect), for something wrong or toxic, then it has the potential to change a fandom’s perspective. I think just engaging with a fandom overall just encourages a form of connection, it’s harder for bigger groups to do this because they are busy and have too many fans that they can’t connect with them. I don’t think groups should be really be disciplining their fandoms constantly, but more groups need to stay in touch with fandoms and develop a strong bond and love with one another. A group’s actions and expressions have more of an impact on a fandom then you think, of course, not everything I said is true and easily be neglected.

To touch on the "visual" position in a group, I also think it's more important and not just a throwaway position that others might think. An example that comes to mind is Siwon of Super Junior. While he is an attractive man, just objectively, he also has this charisma about him and the way he uses his facial expressions that draw someone into the MV, or performance is really fascinating when you think about it. Of course, he's an actor as well, and a humanitarian, so those projects also help with the popularity of the group, but when I think of the center or the visual, he's who I think of. Someone that unifies the look of the group by just being in the center of it. Lol, the members call it the "Siwon effect." SM, at least under that CEO at the time of NCT's debut, has a hard time committing to concepts, unless they are a sub unit. Super Junior was the first real attempt at this concept and it fell through quickly when a new member was added and the fans immediately said "no more, keep this group as it is." I think EXO was the second attempt, or was thought about, but it didn't happen. And now they are finally going through with this concept, but not the way they said they would. I don't know if it will ever work.

People should wait, but now, young fans, think that is edgy to cancel someone right away before knowing exactly what happened or without knowing how exactly life is in korea or as an idol (for example, when everyone was filling idols' IG with "open your purse" or to put a link for all was happening. Koreans would see that as something political and would get reaaaaally mad. Asia is not like USA or Europe.) or when that happened with Yuta... Like... how is he going to say that he supports someone considered problematic and anti-korea in a korean streaming app... while being a kpop idol...??? I think the visual title doesn't need to be a thing. I think having one or two visual member of the group is necessary to gain new fans, I get that, but having the title or like an official position is unnecessary. I think beauty is so subjective so putting that title makes (dumb) fans argue that other members can not be as beautiful or good looking as this visual member, or people will say that the visual member has no other important position or are untalented and send hate to that member, which is really unnecessary. I think if you have members for example like Irene in Red Velvet, people are going to see her in commercials (she's in many, we love to see it!) People will be curious about the group, but to give her that title of visual instead of just being leader, main rapper and lead dancer, then people start to say that Irene is superior to other members in visuals or whatever when beauty is subjective, or I see a lot of people saying "Well Yeri deserve to be visual too" or "Joy deserve to be visual" like people start wanting everyone to be visual because to them, they're the visual, it's really subjective! But because Irene is probably the most popular in terms of visuals, company should take advantage of that and have her be in many shows and commercials, but just not disclose that it's her official position, then people will enjoy her talent more as well I think.

Target Bleach yes I completely agree, the official “visual” position (like you said) is very unnecessary. I dont think its needed to label a member the visual

Agreed. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Aside from that, imagine what it does to your confidence if you're in a group not because you're talented but because of your face. You practice for hours every day but when you go out it's just "Isn't he/she pretty?" while the other members of your group get to be good at things. That would depress me. (Not that it's a problem I personally have LOL)

@@beccangavin right, and it can go opposite way too, like if you're not the official visual, you might lose some confidence in the way you look too, especially if you are pretty young and already didn't have super high self esteem. Imagine like debuting at 15 yrs old or something and someone else in your group has a position of being the pretty/handsome member and not you, like you might lose more confidence because of that label.

I think there is a misconception on what a visual is in a group. Fans think of it as the company saying this is the best looking member(s), and they didn't think the others are attractive enough, but I don't think that's true. I think what they mean is this person will be the "face" of the group. I don't want to say "mascot," but it's the same idea. You don't have to be the best looking member to do that, but you do have to have something about you that draw people to you, or already having the most fans before debut. There are lots of groups where the best looking member doesn't have the visual position, probably because they aren't good at promoting.

As a fanboy and if I were gonna do a dance cover or basically perform a girl group dance I would also change some of the dance a little bit masculine. Like I am sorry I respect women , I like girl groups and their choreographies to watch but its just that I want to be COMFORTABLE. It is not like we disrespect women though or being mysoginistic. Again I respect women and I agree double standards is not cool at all and I appreciate GG for covering and pull of a male cover but if were gonna do GG dance to perform I would do it masculine cause it makes comfortable.

fans make too much of a big deal when members get into arguments. for example mark and haechan, when they had that summer fight literally everyone was posting it all over the place, and when they saw the tiniest hint this summer they did the same thing. people need to realize that the members are humans and can argue. friends argue, that's normal, and members tend to think of each other as family/siblings, and siblings also argue. and it isnt any of our business either. plus, idols read fan tweets and comments, and when they see fans making such a big deal they have the mindset to show it less or try to argue less because they dont wanna upset fans. but humans need to do these things every now and then, and yes our intentions are good, we want the best for our faves, but we cant control everything we want. there's like more i wanna add to this but i cant find the words so i hope you get what i mean 👁👄👁

yeah, i agree that more fans means more toxicity... the groups with smaller fanbases tend to be less toxic because 1. they communicate with the groups/idols better, example: seventeen is one of the big 3 boy groups; EBS (Exo, BTS, Seventeen) but they have a smaller fanbase compared to the 2 other groups... when the members were talking about their fans, a lot of them stated not to tease others because of them and not to call the members with inside jokes because it's offensive sometimes and then after that interview, carats were toning down their jokes about seventeen. The jokes/memes on social media about them were mostly their variety show moments and that's it. 2. the fans are more quiet because of the small number of fans compared to big fanbases, example: ATINY rarely has fanwars based on what I've seen in stan twitter because the massive amount of blinks, armys, onces, etc. are overflowing the internet. Not being too popular but also not being too unknown is actually better than having massive popularity, because of the peacefulness in the fandom.

Whilst were talking about unpopular opinions, I don’t know if it’s just me but I don’t like when kpop reactors react to 30 second teasers and make a 10 minute video out of it. If it’s a teaser like STRAY KIDS “GO IN” teaser fair enough, it was over 1 minuet long and it was telling you about the concept and storyline the group have, same with ONEUS concept trailers for “comeback home” and “to be or not to be” even though they weren’t that long they explain the storyline, you can have a discussion on theories and talk about the music too but if it’s a 10 second snippet of a song and your just screaming and over hyping a song you don’t know too much about it gets annoying and it seems like people are just doing it for attention rather than supporting the artists you like

"stan" is wayyyy too normalized and thrown around. stan is literally the english translation of sasaeng. it is a combination of stalker and fan, which is what a sasaeng is. even so, because the word stan came from eminem's song, and if you heard it or saw the video youd understand. yall be throwing stan all over the place, if you are a "stan" then you are a sasaeng, period.

I don't understand why people ship jungkook and Lisa. It makes me uncomfortable and no doubt if they see it, they'll be uncomfortable too. Not only them, but I've also seen people ship jaehyun and rose. They wouldn't know what goes on behind the scenes and shipping may ruin the friendship they have. I just wish they would stop shipping them together

All these are personal preferences...but actually who cares..you listen to what you want, i listen to what i want.. Honestly what is the point putting out such content to clarify all these personal interest! 😂 And sorry...by the way.. All groups neither boy or girl noone is the best.. Solo artist deserve to call as the best artist! Don't measure a group compare to solo artist.. Number of sales is BULL
