Can I ask why you are always rushing the videos? They still turn out all right but they might be better if you could delay projects like this one until you had all the components needed. For instance, you could have started the drying process on the wood you had while working on another video that you could post before this one. I am not trying to criticize, I am just genuinely curious what has you rushing so much that you aren't able to do the builds as well as you know you can do them. Weapon sizes generally seem to 'match' the wielder in One Piece(either that or size becomes a statement). Now that Zoro has Enma, it seems like regular size katana for him. But when it was wielded by Oden, who's massive compared to Zoro, it looks regular size katana for him.
@anthonylamonica8301

I mean, it was a _little_ bit girthier than it should be, pardon the term, but not significantly. And lengthwise, proportionate to Kaido, it _is_ just about spot-on as depicted in the manga and the anime. Obviously, a _properly_ realistic Kanasaibo with that kind of proportion to the wielder would need to be made of hardwood rather than metal, such as Japanese Red Oak, but still, Oda did a really good job of this one.

American here- the baseball bat is indeed a club, optimized to deliver momentum to a relatively small target, a baseball. Adding spikes obviously focuses the momentum transfer to a much smaller cross section of a target, so of course it makes a very effective weapon. About acquiring hardwood- here in the States there is a glut of “brown furniture”, relatively old fashioned hardwood items like hutches, dressers and such. It seems that millennials prefer IKEA or whatever to large, heavy *hardwood* items. They can be had cheap or even free if you go get it, and can be cut up and the wood repurposed with relative ease. The most common items here are made of maple. I have no idea if you have a similar situation going on in Australia but you might look around at say second hand stores to get a feel for it.
@ShiningDarknes
Күн бұрын
It is because hardwoods take longer to grow so harvesting them to make furniture isn’t the best. Sure old used beat up hardwood furniture is cheap but new stuff is too fucking expensive. Tables, chairs, stools, bed frames, things that actually need to be sturdy should be hardwood everything else an just be pine.

@8:07 the reason why people keep calling it a squash is simple, in the U.S. that would be labeled a "Butternut Squash". Squash comes from a Native American language (I forget which one) and pumpkins were already known in Europe. The distinction between the two seems to be fairly academic, but if I had to guess the rule was probably "did a European have to ask what it's called". It's labeled as a pumpkin in Australia because *all* squash are called pumpkins there.

I actually got a miniature one of these for home protection. I found it at a large flea market that's in my state. It's made entirely out of polypropylene, even the spikes. It was around $30ish USD and the stall I got it from was selling BudK stuff. It's got some good weight to it and it's about 19 and a half inches in length. I live next to the woods and have to worry about coyotes and wild dogs that have gone feral...so when I go out to do things in the yard having a good solid thumper like that makes me feel a bit better should I get blindsided by a wild animal. Kanabos are pretty solid weapons, I actually remember a video of someone making one using post hole digger replacement wood handles and some other things....seriously a decent wooden kanabo has a couple vids you can find online on how to make them. It's when you get into the solid metal ones that are a combination of a testsubo and a kanabo that you start having trouble unless you really know how to work a forge.

As someone who's made quite a few Spiked Bats ( or studded ) your design want's too bad. My only advice would be to make the holes you drill into the wood smaller. The concentrated force you're exerting on the spikes is massive, especially when hitting a solid object like the coconut. A tight friction fit ( or, even better, an actual threaded fit ) will do a lot to prevent the spikes from dislodging.

While here in northern New England, I can walk out into the woods, with a handsaw, pick a properly sized pine sapling (softwood laughably so) cut down the standing dead tree, bring the thing back home, use my hand drill (muscle powered) to put any number of holes into the gathered log, and put some spike nails into it. Maybe add some steel strapping because I can, and call it good. Just got to make sure the log is at least 3 inches around or 1/12th of a meter. That way it's durable enough to slam against a full on tree as hard as humanly possible a couple hundred times in a row, before it breaks. Oddly enough, the strapping gives it a directional flail like effect that is predictable. assuming the log breaks. Kinda fun actually from my perspective. Also dumb, and I do not recommend that anyone without common sense try that. Also, clamps make the drilling easier.

Two thing you are getting wrong is that a Kanabo is generally a larger at around an average of 4 feet, in Kaido's case it's much, MUCH bigger, but based on your size compared to the bat, you're about the size of Kaido compared to his weapon. Kaido is 26 feet tall. So don't expect the size to be perfect. The last thing is Kaido's Kanabo is all metal. It is not a wooden weapon. So you'd probably get a more faithful recreation getting a metal bat and welding the spikes into the bat itself. Then creating a ring. Honestly, his just looks like someone cast it from straight metal and probably hardened the spikes. But a non-hollow metal club of any sort is gonna be heavy as hell.

You don't need to feel down about the size of this Kanasaibo. Many models _were_ about that length and shape, historically speaking, and would have been made primarily of hardwood rather than solid metal (which is when it becomes a Tetsubo). In effect, you made a _realistic_ variation of Kaido's Kanasaibo. In actual fact, the longer and heftier versions you probably think of at first would've been _less_ common on actual battlefields than the single-handed iterations due to the _substantially_ increased strength, stamina, and skill requirements to properly use such a huge weapon; at the upper end, Kanasaibo could be ten-plus kilos and well over a meter-and-a-half long. That said, if you ever get a chance, I think it'd be _awesome_ for you to attempt to craft and wield one of those massive war-clubs!

A slow-pitch softball bat would be a better option since it has a thicker barrel.

7:44 Tyranth feeling the American coming out in him. Now you see why American shows and movies feature the baseball bat, always. They're just so fun to swing. Whereas the British version is the cricket bat or a crowbar. You should do a Zombie Weapon civil war: Baseball bat vs Cricket bat

Heavy stick that is comfortable to hold really does bring out the Neanderthal in all of us. I haven't played since I was in Little League but I still can't resist getting in a batting stance every time one crosses my hands as an adult. 😂

My suggestion is to take tyrants idea and add threads- keep the epoxy too though.

One thing about a baseball bat is you have to hold it right or it will break, hold it with the label UP or DOWN, or it will break, but you have a nice swing.

If the spikes are aluminum then you could get an aluminum bat, drill the holes and tig weld the solid rods through the bat then fill it with epoxy or the like maybe even toss in some lead shot to help balance it and give it more OOMPH!

When you said you couldnt find the hard wood in the size you needed i immediately thought you just needed to hang in there and keep looking, you'll find the right fit some day. When i stopped chuckling at my own joke i figured you needed the amish; they have their own mills and can usually get you whatever wood you need. Then i realized that having amish lumber mills available to you is probably a fairly unique expectation to have, and i dont even know if you have the amish at all If you ever need a barn raised or a cabinet made you cant get much better than the amish/mennonites

The Amish indeed do not exist outside of the US, at least not full colonies. I’m sure some have traveled.

You know before watching this video i was always pretty confused about kaidos weapon choice (always thought he would use axes or a hammer, just not a kanabo) but now it makes a lot of sense Its a monster using an equally monstorous weapon

-Target is named Tony -wearing red/pink hat -Tony falls over before even getting hit Lore accurate if Kaido fought Tony Tony Chopper 1v1. Inb4: “Chopper would at least be able to defend against Kaido!” I like Chopper as much as anyone else, but you know he’d get annihilated by Kaido.

The only thing one needs to know about baseball is Who's on first, What's on Second, and I don't Know is on third.
