I'm a dual citizen of Canada and the US. Born and raised in Canada but currently living in the US (Alaska). Always wated to see China. I've been watching Chinese dramas since my teens (a long time now), altgough l also enjoy Korean and Japanese ones as well. Been to South Korea only once so far. My boyfriend lives there. It was fun but the work-life balance needs a lot of work.

My view of South Korea is that it's an extremely shallow country with too much emphasis on beauty and material.

In America, cut in line or don't put your signal or honking others will bring you trouble. Never honk other people unless there's a stupid driver. Don't put signal or tailgate other car might get a ticket from police. Cut in line is a No No too. People will piss off unless you ask them politely. Change lane two or three lanes at once will get ticket. Drive on the shoulder of the road will get a ticket. Avoid speed ticket is to drive less than 10 miles above speed limit. Example, Speed sign is 60 mph, you can drive 68 mph, but not 70 mph or more. Police can pull you over.

I'm lucky and grateful to have a really good passport (Swedish) so I can visit most countries visa-free. I've never been to South Korea, but I will visit some day! For food and fun, not beauty. :) I had dreams to visit China too but things changed with the pandemic unfortunately... maybe some day though. I hope your application goes well! Living in Europe and within the EU, it's not that uncommon for people to live and work abroad because it's relatively easy to move to other EU countries. People move for different job opportunities, to be closer to central Europe (Sweden is far north), for a different lifestyle, warmer weather, all kinds of reasons. People also often travel for leisure and it's common to go abroad for vacation, most popular destinations are either southern parts of Europe or Southeast Asia. I currently live in the USA and a lot of people vacation within the country because it's so big and varied, like China.

I don't have desire to visit China. I'm afraid of food safety and security of myself. You never know I might be locked up in China if I visit the country. I don't play with Communist country because I experienced communist regime one time in my life. Communist does not follow a rule of law. The law depends on their mood. Nobody can preach me how good is communist. I rather go with capitalist country like America. America works harder than communist or socialist countries. European people do not work hard as American, except Japan and South Korea.

@@ChiaLin-speakEnglish you need to travel the world to see bad traffic and crazy drivers. Try driving in NYC Brooklyn BQE and Buckner's expy in the Bronx... Driving in China is NOT at that level yet.
