So cool. I'm running almost the exact same live setup/workflow. Its a rare thing.... I do still struggle keeping the lantency in check / playable. So you've made me look into the E-rm multiclock. Also the advanced midi editor you've mentioned is such and overlooked feat. Using it with some smart combinator settings is basically allowing full MPE control over Reason patches while playing the Linnstrument. Also also fellow rotterdamer :)

More is coming :) I'm currently preparing & filming a series for my channel that will dive into more details using Reason 12 in a live setting, as well as some improvements I've been making with the process (and code I've been writing) since ADE. The first few videos should be ready around March/April. Also looking forward to doing more workshops like this in the future. Reason is an incredibly powerful bridge between hardware and software in a live setting (and so much fun).

Awesome demonstration! This video here is a clear representation that a DAW is primarily a tool, and like any tool, it is only as good as what you do with it. Very inspiring and congrats to Beyun for such a creative approach.

This is great! Lots of very cool info here. One thing that would have really helped would have been to be capturing the screen feed as well with an HDMI capture device. It can be a little challenging to understand some of the details of her setup within Reason when we can't really see it that well in the video.

I think people overlook the capabilities of Reason allot these days, I see allot of other brands new plugins that do functions that Reason devices could do a decade ago. If You have Reason there devices can be used to make pretty much music Genre of music.

I feel that Reason would've done the music making community a huge favor by embracing and incorporating more control surfaces into it's workflow. I know there are many controllers that work with reason but none have a 1:1 dedicated control surface for the rack. Nektar tried it but it didn't seem to appeal to the folks at reason much even tho there is nothing that rack is begging for more than a dedicated control surface for optimal studio workflow and performance.
@TheValueOfN

I'd love to buy a dedicated work surface that also incorporates controls for VST3s/Kontakt. Reason's version of "Push" will never happen but I'd jump on it.

Awesome demonstration of the live capabilities 👍 What I discovered as a little bit hard is loop recording audio and I don’t now if there is an easier way: 1. I run my track in reason and want to record an audio track for a loop from an external device 2. When the audio recording hits the end of the loop it restarts at the beginning and overrides the previous recorded sound But I would like to record for the loop once and when it reaches the end of the loop it stops recording without replacing anything recorded previously. Currently I do this by a custom auto keyboard event tracker software which works like this: when sequencer is recording and at the end of a loop autopress stop recording. Dont know if I explained it good. Does someone knows an easier trick to do that?
@kevintrosky111

I found something on reddit explaining how to basically set up Reason like a loopstation. I cant find it at the moment. It wasn't perfect. For instance, you can't autoloop a 2 bar track into a 4 or 8 bar track. So each loop has to be as long as your longest loop. It won't auto copy/paste, or reset. I recommend an RC505.
