Thank you very much, brother. This relatively easy maintenance procedure can be done at your house with a few tools and not that much time. Take your time and pay attention to what you are doing, and you can save yourself a couple of hundred dollars in labor costs at the dealer. Your bike also won't be tied up at the dealer for who knows how long. And most importantly, you know the job is done right. Your videos are very well made. They are informative and the camera work is excellent. I am sure I speak for many Rebel owners when I say thank you for taking your time to make these videos. I have been saving them in a special section of my computer to refer to when I need to work on my bike, and they are very helpful. Thank you again, and God bless. Eric in Kissimmee Florida.

One trick if pistons wont budge is use the brake lever a little bit to unseize them. I've been able to replace pads on my old Vl1500 using a prybar while leaving the caliper on. Also I would put a little grease on the back of the pads to make them easier to replace next service. A little red threadlock on the bolts wouldn't hurt. And wiping any brake fluid off with alcohol and a rag.

Thanks for the video. I followed your instructions when I was done I can hear a slight noise that sounds like it is coming from the brake lever. Is this something to worry about or is this the new pads breaking in. The brakes work fine.
@ontherebel11

Hi Brad, if you used the same brake pads that I installed, yes it does generate a slight noise that isn't easy to describe, totally normal. But if you feel something is not right, please have a mechanic check it out, don't risk it when it comes to brakes. 🤙

I think Honda recommends new bolts because they automatically have threadlocker on them. Can't imagine the material is worn out.

Hi Prince, it's possible that you are correct, but I have to report what the service manual states so that you are empowered to make a decision. 🤙

You need to change the bolts only if you change the pads because they are "bold". If you are changing pads to a different brands and OEM pads are relatively new. Reuse the bolts.

Hi Daniel, this is the one I got www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ebc-fa700hh-double-h-sintered-front-brake-pads?Product&RevZilla&sku_id=1833014 But keep in mind that I did not feel any improvement over the OEM ones as they are made of the same compound of HH, so I wouldn't recommend them over the oem pads.

Try not to spray electric harnesses or any thing that looks like a sensor. That's when the corrosion starts and bike wont run a week later.

Good day, if my brake fluid is low can i add to it without bleeding the system?
@ontherebel11
Жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel! Great to hear from you man! Yes sir, but keep in mind that a best practice is to bleed the system and or replace the brake fluid if it is more than 2 years old, I prefer to change mine once a year. There is a video on the channel of how to change the brake fluid if you've considered doing that. 👍
@DanielSan-sw9px
Жыл бұрын
@@ontherebel11 Thank you, a mechanic did the fluid change when he added a longer brake line. I'm getting 12-inch ape bars. Upon recommendation, he said it was time to replace the front pads. Now knowing I won't have to bleed the system again, I can replace the front brakes myself. Again thanks for the info.

Hello Tanzir, thank you for contributing to the community by starting this conversation. It is important for us to share accurate and responsible information when this is going to be read by other owners in the future. Here is what the service manual states on page 19-8 "install the front brake caliper (1) and NEW front brake caliper bolts (2)" it has a picture next to this text with arrows pointing directly at the caliper bolts. I hope this helps brother. 🤙
