You guys are right on with this one. I read the book and knew almost immediately that this book was contradictory to the Word of God. One scripture alone throws out this whole concept. God made a way for us to go confidently before the throne of grace to make our petitions known through the blood of Jesus. People are so hungry to have some great or special revelation that they have started using occultic methods to get some new thing, which makes them look high and mighty and super spiritual. It gets a lot of attention, unfortunately.

Excellent discussion about a troubling trend..This idea of "going into the courts of Heaven and claiming 'summary judgments' is eerily similar to others in hyper-charisma who sensationally report on time travel adventures where God shows them things in future generations or traveling back into history, "3rd Heaven praying", soaking from glory clouds, opening portals of angels and closing demon portals, "frequency quantum healing" and "the laws of attraction bringing into reality what your words create" commanding angelic hosts to shred hurricanes, etc...All of this is very uncomfortably similar to magical thinking that permeates New Age!! On the popular prophetic site we all know about, today I heard the guest talk with just giddy words and a casual smile how she chose to 'step into Heaven' while praying recently ...And suddenly she was on a red motorcycle along side Jesus on a blue motorcycle and He was laughing hysterically as they both zoomed off on Heavenly roads..( proving to her the "doctrine" of "Heaven will be fun!" ...(and no it wasn't Kat K but someone else!So this type of mystical new revelation sensation stuff is spreading more and more! These hyper-mystical experiences are, in my view, becoming demonically influenced by "angel of Light" delusion..and "SOPHISTRY" ( and the word 'sophistry' important word we need to use lately!!) which fools those new young zealous "lambs" who don't yet have a good doctrine foundation. God help the new "current prophets" to seriously adhere to the Holy Scripture and now seek new latter-day manifest sons of God woohoo revelations that none others in Church history ever heard!

I followed this teaching and many others like it for years and wondered why I never saw breakthrough in my life and ended up falling away from the faith in utter despair and frustration. I thank God for restoring me to the faith and leading me into the pure and narrow path. I read the book and found it disturbing because of its scripture twisting. We are called to approach The Throne of Grace not judgment. God's Throne does not exist of a plethora of courtrooms. There's only one Throne of God. All this teaching does is present a convoluted works oriented system of prayer that is not scriptural. I am going with what Jesus taught. He said to go to the Father directly and ask.

You are right. It’s all works. And it results in bondage. Extra stuff a Christian does not need to do. The Lord makes it very clear what a believer is to do to walk with Him. He says my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Nothinggggggg about this courts of heaven is light or easy. These people are spent HOURS on zoom with eyes closed thinking they are in the courts of heaven by making up imaginations in their head. And then making tons of declarations and so forth. Like I said, nothing light. Only heavy burdens and bondage that they believe they need to go to the courts with all the time.

Based on what Michael Rowntree stated around minute 31 ish that can feel to the lay Christians that a gift needs to be imparted for “activation” and then that leaves out the Christian who has never experienced that act from a prominent leader and doesn’t seem inclusive but rather only designated for some?

Tradition says that the mantle of Elijah was kept in the temple and that John the Baptist's father, on direction from God, took the mantle from the temple and gave it to John the Baptist, who then wore that mantle when he taught, prophesied, and baptized. Having the mantle of Elijah is why so many flocked to the wilderness to see him. Not confirmed in the scriptures, of course, but if true that would be fascinating. I was always gleeful to see Lewis poking fun of Rountree on his Calvinism, until today when I realized Lewis was Arminian. I'll pray for you both. Hee.

While you guys are speaking about his prayer system, it sounds to me like prayer has become a form of work or works in order to obtain from God. That would leave those working at this putting their faith in their works, prayers and not in Jesus. Here's my stab at Elisha. God empowers that which testifies of him. Elisha, even what remained of his bones, was a reminder of the testimony of YHWH and Elisha's plea to the people for covenant faithfulness. That witness is inseparable from his bones, so God empowers the message and witness of Elisha even in his death. I think this is also compatible with Josh's interpretation, which I also thought was good.

The fallen angels sit in the courts of God, the council of God, as we see in Ps 82, and so this very much sounds like the doctrine of demons and praying to demons. That said, I do believe that holiness can be imparted to objects like the bones and handkerchiefs and the hem of Christ's garments and the ark of the covenant, but we absolutely should not chase such things.

I see some aspects of the Positive Confession movement in Henderson's false teachings. In Positive Confession, getting what you want requires the correct "confession" of your mouth. In Henderson's teaching, it requires filing the correct legal motions with the "courtroom of heaven". I'm seeing shades of Ken Hagin in Henderson's teachings. Also, if he sees the mantle as a "substance", this is no different than the + confession people calling faith a substance that must be activated by a positive confession of faith.

The problem is: people walking under that teaching are having their prayers answered!!! Can you explain this too? It is the functioning of this prayer style! I am not interested in the theological sophistry but I want to know why when people start to pray in this way, their relatives become safed, their illnesses are getting healed Why do those audiences have so many prayer answered!! Read the commentaries under Hendriksens teachings, because those “results” of prayer draws the people into those stupid teachings. And I agree, we too teach about the gifts of the spirit and we teach the people never make a doctrine out of how the Holy Spirit is guiding you. That is very important! Our doctrines come only out of the word of God. But the problem with hedriksen is, he takes the word of God and starts to interpret it differently!
@kerensapee

This might help answer your question "The problem is: people walking under that teaching are having their prayers answered!!! Can you explain this too?" "3 Crucial Questions about Spiritual Warfare" by Clinton Arnold addresses a similar question about the 80s prayer movement that was popular. The prayer involves binding spiritual demons/principalities over a geographic region. Although such practice is never mentioned in the Bible, and the binding and loosing (B&L) verse was misinterpreted to do such kind of prayers, it gained traction in the 80s. If it had work, Paul would have gone around binding spiritual beings over Ephesus instead of sharing the gospel. Jesus would have taught us to pray B&L and we wouldn't have the Lord's prayer. However, people who do B&L argued that it actually works. Clinton Arnold addresses that question in his book. In one scenario mentioned in his book, the people who did B&L were intercessors and have interceded for weeks before an evangelistic conference. When many people were saved in the conference, they then attribute it to their method of prayer, B&L, instead of their weeks of interceding with "normal" prayers. In fact, from John Paul Jackson's book "Needless casualties of war" and others' experience who did B&L, bad things happened to people who blindly do that, (calling down regional principalities). I do understand and have an open mind that the Holy Spirit could call some to do things the rest of us are not called to do. But B&L is not a biblical prayer model to be taught. Our authority from Jesus is on earth, over demons/principalities who demonized people (that's our authority on Earth thru Jesus). Our authority does not involve fighting some heavenly or regional war. I guess it's the same with the Court of Heaven teaching, why it worked. Some of the things taught by Court of Heaven such as generational influence and word curse we have place on ourselves are real. I have experienced it myself. I have broken a word curse over myself that the Holy Spirit brought to mind. I use to have spiritual attack almost every night, then one day the Holy Spirit revealed to me the "open door," something I carelessly said many years ago that gave the enemy the foothold. After I repented from what I had said, the attacks went away. I didn't go to any heaven court, I seek the Lord and in my case (pun not intended) He showed me through the Holy Spirit. I don't walk around thinking what did I say wrong or repent over this and that or live in fear. I read His word and ask the Holy Spirit to teach me. Some people who learned about these truth (generation influence, curse etc) might have learned it from Court of Heaven teachings. Unfortunately, if they are not careful, what will work at first (because there is some truth in what they teach) will end up becoming a bondage of works and methods. I forgot which preacher said this (Spurgeon?) "Wisdom is not knowing right from wrong but knowing right from not quite right"

Two of them are mid 40s, the other is early 30s. The two older guys have been lead pastors for many years already.

I’m sorry to say this but I have been listening to Robert Henderson and love his teachings on courts of heaven. I urge that you all go back and carefully listen to his teachings again.Your explanation of what Robert teaches is totally wrong. Not even close .For example Robert never say that we talk to dead people instead he says as you step in the courts of heaven you have witnesses there to back you case against the devil and one of those witnesses are the spirits of the righteous made perfect(already gone believers)He never said you talk to dead people……scripture backs it up in Ephesians 12:24.I urge that you all go back and listen to his teachings again. The Bible says you can never mock God for he is never mocked.Robert Henderson is a successful Christian Author who has written many successful books. There’s no way he would continue to dube believers using the word of God while God watched…you just can’t do that.God is never mocked.

All they can do is warn. It’s up to you what you do with the warning. Did you miss the part where people engaged in this had to be delivered from evil spirits? Irenaeus call this doctrine heresy way back in the early church.

I am probably going to get a lot of flak for saying this….. BUT….After having carefully listened to your show today, I'm very saddened that you have twisted what Robert Henderson teaches. You started off on the wrong foot by saying that calling God a judge is QUOTE "not right" and that we are to ONLY call him "Father," as you stated around the 11 min mark….. God is no less our righteous judge as He is our FATHER. Just as a natural man on earth can be your father and a judge. The first time I heard about the courts of heaven in 2016, my first response, of course, was -- where's that in the Bible? When a lady demonstrated a case - I did NOT get it at all -- but when the verdict was made, something in the spirit shook me in the natural--- I have no other words to explain what that means -- other than the fact that I needed to find out if this is really real. So, the next day in prayer, I asked the Lord- if this court thing is real, then open my spiritual eyes and ears - OMG HE DID!… And I have to tell you, after that experience, the fear of God hit me like no other time in my life. For the next 18 months, I neither spoke of the courts of heaven nor wanted to go near it because it is very real (sobering real)… keeping my experience in my heart… and knowing it is real… in my desperation ti a situation I was going through in 2018, by faith I asked the Holy Spirit to guide me so that I can have a breakthrough, And just as the Parable says… I got immediate supernatural results. Read it again… Jesus said in Luke 18:8, I tell you, he (GOD) will grant justice to them quickly! that is not a parable; it is a promise...AND GOD (not the devil) gets all glory, honor, and praise…. It has been the most amazing and exciting journey of my life. It's not that we are 'allowing' God to move as though He can't -- it's through our repentance, humility, and submitting to God (who is JUDGE, and to Jesus, who is our MEDIATOR, and to Holy Spirit, who is our COUNSELOR) that HE is able to move speedily. You cannot understand the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues if you never experienced it.. nor can you understand the courts of Heaven without the Holy Spirit leading you! It is important to get in your prayer closet and GET UNDERSTANDING before you critique what you obviously do not understand. Love you guys…. 😁

They did two earlier videos over this topic, and upon their initial study and further study they're convinced that it's wrong. That's why they came out with seemingly strong language. Fwiw :)

You misunderstood re Father/judge. They were criticising someone else who claimed God is only a father and not a judge.

@Joshua we know our salvation begins with faith and we walk out that faith through experiences. we walk out those experiences by the power of God. What that means is the word of God helps us experience God not override it.😊 You like many others are so quick to condemn please don't do that. I have listened to some of RH teachings but it is the Holy Spirit who lead and guided "me" to walk out my victory.. which was addressing father God as Righteous Judge. Repentance humility and intimacy are the keys.. not what these gentleman are construing. Pray about it 😊

@Joshua well I can say this.. my experience in this conversation with you is not one of love as the Bible speaks of. You do not know me to be able to make such judgment calls. 😔the natural mind cannot comprehend the things of the Spirit no matter how much bible we think we know.

Courts of Heaven: Typical prosperity gospel and New Age book. The NAR is a dangerous movement and ought to be wholly repudiated. And, yes, this is typical Word of Faith, little gods theology. Totally heretical.

It’s their responsibility to warn, and yours to have discernment and prayerfully consider the warning. Did you miss the part where people had to be delivered from evil spirits after engaging in this type of “prayer”?
