i still find it fucking crazy that the demo tape exists, this is the sort of tape you hear about but never expect to actually exist. you can literally hear mark's love of the smiths and other 80s alt music in the unused tracks. the lyrics are also just as good as any other early RHP, million and 8 things should've specifically had it's lyrics kept on shock me, love them most of the other uploads of it are gone but the demo mixes included are cool. mark definitely fucked around A LOT with the mixes for DCH the low quality and tape degradation that pitches things up is also kind of cool, gives mark a weird voice that makes him sound fittingly younger

i really like the pitched up sound of 24 and medicine bottle. headsore, 21 and waterkill are all super underappreciated gems of their discography

This isn't an official album release, right? The title makes it sound like it is. There being a whole other RHP release I didn't know about would make me sadder than the album is about to.

No these are from the original demo that got them signed to 4AD. The songs that ended up on the first 2 albums aren’t here.
