Hey Hugh, when is the consumer VR180 camera from Canon finally coming out?
@hughhou

Prob early next year - maybe CES? I think they pull it after seeing the competition from Insta360. Prob will have even higher specs

This is such a great comparison! I own the R5C and love using it for our immersive projects. I wanted to ask you how you exported this project because every time I export a project for immersive use on KZitem I can never seem to do it properly. I’m wanting to also give iPhone users a chance to move their phone around and see what it looks like. How did you do it?

So I have several tutorials on render on this channel. They are older tutorials but still work great. Basically I use FFMPEG in code mode as most software can not handle render above 8K.

Hey hugh love the video as usual. I had a question what are your thoughts on using the new RF-S F3.5 with crop sensor RED's like the Vraptor s35 or the komodo X? Would you say it could be used as a cheaper rental option than the Vraptor X and RF 5.2mm

I actually want to test Komodo X next. Does not work in Raptor.

Hi Hugh. I've been looking through your videos for details on creating (or downloading) a good lens mask for VR180 videos and can't seem to find anything (unless I missed it). Do you have any tips for that?

Thank you as always, Hugh, for your videos re: 3D. Have you tried the RF 5.2mm lens on the Canon C80? Apologies for asking in case you are not allowed to reveal this info. Cheers, John
@hughhou
Күн бұрын
No as I do not own C80. That’s a hot camera and getting my hands on it is hard since I bought all my camera for review to keep it unbiased. And something I need to pick and choose. Maybe I can borrow one from someone to test it soon. 6K is still too low for VR. Even R7 technically is a 7K sensor resolution

200 maybe, 220 is just too bit. Btw, we tested all the Entaniya and decide the 200 is the sharpest even tho 220 is way more expensive

Hugh, thanks for the great VR videos! I’m going to be traveling a lot in the next year and i want to shoot 3d 180 immersive video for youtube. Im choosing between the Calf V2 Visense, Acer Spatiallabs Eyes and dual GoPro hero. Im a professional video editor and feel comfortable with the post stitching if i go with 2 GoPros. Do you have a recommendation for which camera i should go with?
@hughhou

The 2x GoPro will prob give you the best results and the Resolve tutorial also work with that setup. Acer is not 180 btw.

Hi Hugh! Many thanks for your great content. Hope you can help me. Is there any link out there to download Canon 5r mark II VR footage? KZitem is limited to 4k in Argentina, and on Metaquest platform i cannot judge a big difference compared to an insta x4 rather than the "3d" effect. I think the Metaquest 3 goggles are the real bottleneck but just to understand if there is a real difference for future goggles with more resolution. I have a project in a couple of months I need to decide on going with the Canon or not. Much appreciated and keep us informed with you valuable content and advise! Best

If you go to the link of this video, there is Canon R5 Mark II RAW CRM for download here. Then you can stitch in VR using the EOS VR Utility and it’s free first 2 min.

@@hughhou C log 2, has more highlight information, that can be recovered in post, the noise in shadows, is caused because its been recovered when you expose in 0.0 ev in middle gray, thats how clog 2 works, is you over expose by nearly 2 stops, the shadows are going to be cleaner, because they are not been recovered in low light, so there is no noise, in highlight you are going to be overexposed, but thanks to the great lattitude of the clog, you can recover it, an voila, you get a cleaner image, try it ;)

Why is it necessary to remove the OLPF?
@hughhou
19 сағат бұрын
So OLPF make image look soft - it’s ideal for 2D cinematic look which everything had a softer look. If you look at movie / film - they do not look sharpe like DSLR or consumer camera. But OLPF is bad for 180 especially distance as things will look blurry in distance. Expected effects in cinema but not in VR or Vision Pro. So we need to remove it and selective soften area in Resolve instead letting the camera decide for us. If that make sense. It’s still has a softer look than Canon BTW, but now it’s ideal soft look instead of blurry.

Wait, that #1 is MV-HEVC. So it’s 3D 180 side by side BUT in Apple format. You need our app Spatial Film on AVP to watch it! Our app is free on Vision Pro. You do need a Vision Pro to watch it. Meta Quest we have a direct link so just click it. I think Meta have not approved the video yet - take them a while to approve thing which is annoying. I only have control on my own app hehe.
