I should have said that they did have make-up in the Mycenaean period, so it is possible that Helen wore some, but not the Max Factor stuff that Helen trowels on in 'Troy'.
Also, I was so amazed to see out-of-place-and-period Chinamen in the market scene, that I failed to point out that the chicken clearly shown is out of its time too. The domesticated chicken won't appear in the Mediterranean area until about the 5th century BC.
I notice that when I say 'bazaar' I swallow the first vowel in my haste, and so it might be mistaken for 'bizarre'. I definitely meant 'bazaar', and I con't be bothered to rerecord the soundtrack now.
This is the first complicated edit attempted with Sony Vegas, and after a long editing period, I then had five hours of frustration trying to output the file such that it would play properly. Of course everything looked fine in Vegas, but once out it was a mess.
Anyway, it seems to be working now, so I can get on with doing another couple of these.
