Plenary Session | Reformed Multilateralism: Pivoting Towards Equitable Development | The collective call for reformed multilateralism reverberates across the globe, especially amid strained geopolitical relations between countries, escalating debt levels, constricted government budgets, and the urgent need for development finance to address global challenges. The imperative to reform the United Nations and Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) stands at the centre of this discourse, underpinning the narrative of inclusive socioeconomic development and the politics of including the Global South in the global governance agenda. This plenary session seeks to dissect the emerging contours of a new multilateral framework at the UN and across MDBs, focusing on the imperative to prioritise just politics, inclusive and sustainable growth.
