A tribute to the poetess, writer and revolutionary in her times. Kamala Surayya, The great Madhavikutty, 24 years ago she wanted me to do a poetry visualisation of hers. Though I gladly agreed , never got to do it. Then years later after she left Cochin, Manorama news channel came to find me through some reference of an old friend during theatre days to portray her in a small news documentary in 2007. It was like a sign .. The reminder of a promise unkept .. I did it for her as a tribute or more like an offering in lieu of what I had left undone .. Here it is .the documentary that was aired in Manorama news channel ... A little crude may be ..but for me , it's a treasure to cherish as it established that indeed I had some connect with her . Regards, Rekha Agarwal.
You came to me when I was young, a flower child
With a prospect that was far beyond my grip
The carefree Maverick in me took it lightly
Little did I know that it would follow me far
Then a day came that you decided to leave
And that is when I realised with a heave
That the little pact that we had was not that trivial
It came back to find me like a jolt from above
You left yet came back to find me
I saw the sign and understood then
That what we had was a divine connection
