The best trick I've ever saw. Very good Why doesn't every manufacturer make it so easy

Pretty straight forward explanation. I've been spoiled by the simplicity of Shimano/Hollowtech II, (Except on my road bike where I made the mistake of choosing Campy's Powertorque.)

Yep, can't beat Shimano's HT2 system.... all others just seem wrong.

thanks for posting... a great demonstration of why Shimano rules... allen wrench and plastic nub for tension is all that is needed to remove a Shimano crank...

Good video, I have a question, at min 6:45 when I tighten the screw the crank locks completely how do I avoid it. Do I need to use more Spacers?

Hey Clint, I'm traveling to St. Petersburg beach FL next week, I was wondering if it was worth bringing my mountain bike or just road ride. Thanks.

+Joe Penley absolutely! Head over to Alafia River State Park or balm-boyette which is a tad closer but on the way to Alafia River State Park. I want to say it's less than an hour from St Petersburg.

Honestly, it's been awhile since I've owned this bike but I showed in the video. You may be able to just install a 30 mm spindle Sram crankset. But if you have a good local bike shop I would definitely check with him. I know on more current Giants they use sram GXP which is a 24 mm spindle. And of course they use Sram press-fit bearings. There is a tool that taps out bearings and of course you need one to press them back in. It's pretty simple but you have to have the correct tool. If you're doing this on a Giant bike then I would get the bearings and crankshaft. Press-fit bearings are really cheap and it's a good idea to change them every year or two.

Great video, Thanks. But, regarding the design...why?! Have a Rotor 3D with a spanner nut. I don't own a spanner wrench and don't want to. Going back to Shimano.
