I love the room that slide-outs give an RV, but, every time I watch one of these videos of trying to fix one, I want to stay away from them! That said, my next RV will probably have one (or more), but at least now I know what to look for when checking it out prior to buying it. Thanks again!

Your channel proves time and again that RV Repair is rarely, if ever, an exact science. Doing it right requires a tremendous work-ethic... and also, bunched-up carpet is another reason to rarely, if ever, use carpet in a coach 😂

So it looked like the unsecured edges of the carpet that wasn't removed dorked the slide alignment. Ouch. My RV has came with the vinyl floor from the factory. My 2018 Winnebago has some pretty nice rollers secured to the coach floor that the slide rolls on. Interesting to see how these things are put together. It's a shame there aren't after market adjustable rollers you could use rather than those fixed height carpeted slide blocks. Thanks for doing all the heavy lifting and the excellent video work and narration. I dread the day I have a problem with my full length slide. Motor homes seem to just self destruct every time you look at them sideways.

You're correct. But getting the refrigerator, booths, pantry and everything that was in the cabinets outside is a very big job and would add a substaintial labor cost for very little gain.

Seems like there should be some kind of a roller bearing for under these slideouts. Low profile, single direction. that would relieve a lot of the pressure off the mechanisms.

What you’ve done is very similar to the kitchen slide in my 2014 Keystone Cougar fifth wheel. Have a vinyl flooring and just a rub bar to ride on. Could you have installed the Lippert Rollers in place of the plastics you used? BTW I didn’t get around to installing the rollers this summer so maybe next year. 🤷♂️

Me: Well, by the time we remove the slide outs, replace the carpet and put the slides back...$$$$$$$ Customer looks at me like I am stupid. Thanks for showing everybody what they get when they change flooring in an RV for cheap.

It's a noble effort. It's hard to know which cluster-#$% design feature caused it or how much the slide-out or chassis opening changed shape over time. I assume leaving it as is increases risk of water leak/damage.
