My wife doesn't understand how I can sit and "watch a man dig holes", as she describes it, for hour after hour. I keep telling her there's more to it than digging a hole. You really are a master craftsman with an amazing vision and a great sense of special awareness. Thank you for your hard work on the plant equipment and at the PC to bring us these videos. Looking forward to tomorrow now. 😁

I think I would have not built the temporary dam, but would have dug a ditch from the head of the pond to the busted dam and let everything dry out. Then I'd grade the pond and then build the new dam. Chris is one of very few than can turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. It will be beautiful this time next year.

I know that's driving ya crazy Chris, trying to figure out where you can get a lot more loads of clay !! If my guess is right, your done with this one ,or right at it !! And found everything ya needed to finish it on up !! Sucks though , that the hillside went dry as fast as it did, when you was counting on it to have most of what you did need !! Normally your guesstamation is right on , when ya dig test holes to find your dirt on a jobsite, this one lied to ya !! lolol... But, it is coming on up, and looking good so far, Alright Man, Great as Always !! Have a Great Evening, And, On too the Next !! Talking about some Cold Weather coming in, a nice Cold Front blew in here in Western Ky yesterday. And supposed to get down into the 30's for the first time this fall here tonight , I think ?? you guys may be getting in on it ?? Alright then... Have a Good one...

I sometimes wonder if all the ponds they have in Chris's area are not really 'ponds', but rather they are slow acting silt traps. Seems like eventually all these man made ponds fill up with solids and need to be dredged out.

Wondering were the shoreline will be on the pond you opened the dam on once everything fills. Is the drain box set such that it is about where it was before in that other pond? This might sound dumb but you should char them mats. By that I mean take a weed burner and char them good. Try it with one and see if it helps them to last. I am old we used to toss fence posts into a fire and burn the ends good. It keeps them from rotting by not sucking up water.

If that thirty six inch pipe gets full and full flow, that lower pond is going to go. That said I would still put in spillways at both ends of this new dam. That bank sand holds water fine but nothing erodes faster than bank sand.
