Help us to Love and that light that will shine is love and God is Love many are watching this and , I don't think they know that they are either angels on assignment from God or just a human that made it and requested to come back and help mankind. I don't think they , while on earth in this form , remember Heaven or anything before this life. Somehow I believe they were allowed to be here and it's not reincarnation. This is the kind of artistry that gives "broken" people hope. Ren, through this performance piece, has become to a lot of people exactly what he stated in the song, "...the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope". So powerful, so impactful. The song structure itself is incredible. It starts off as a battle between his positive (Angel) and negative (Demon) aspects, the negative then makes an overpowering last ditch effort to reign supreme, tearing free and trying to take control, but ultimately fails as the final act, being the "God" aspect, emerges Triumphant, though still acknowledging and accepting that it will ALWAYS be a battle because we are all "a coin with 2 different sides". It's a beautifully cathartic and raw musical masterpiece. Ren is truly special. Welcome to the Ren rabbit-hole, it's a trip worth taking. This was the 4th take he did and yes, it was done live. Wait until you hear some of his other stuff, especially his storytelling ("The Tale of Jenny & Screech"). You haven't even touched the breadth of this young man's talent yet. The pig character (imo) represents the doctors and therapist who have essentially butchered him for years through their misdiagnosis. It's the system that focuses on peddling more pills than on genuinely trying to help to fix broken/ill people, caring more about profit than individual health. The bastardization of the hippocratic oath. He literally thought he was going insane because he was told repeatedly that the pain and symptoms he was experiencing were all in his head (psychosomatic). He had reached a point where he literally resigned himself to dying before he reached 30. Turns out he had Lyme's disease the whole time and it ran rampant through his system for 10 years, even to the point of causing brain damage. Ironically, if Ren hadn't gone through what he has, would he have ever made the art he has? There's no question that his suffering has shaped his music and now he's finally getting the recognition he undoubtedly deserves. I've said it before, I'll say it again, Ren is special.

I am so glad that Ren escaped the spiderwebs of the record labels, I am so glad that he never had an interview with Opra, so glad that he is an independent artist. This song, this Divine message, this pure art surely would not have happened, If the Machine had swallowed up him. Let's support this brother! I have been reawakened to my own soul and my walk with Jesus by falling into this Ren Rabbit hole. But as always when we eat. We eat the chicken and spit out the bones. There were no bones to spit out listening to this song. It was all Truth. I have watched dozens of reaction videos on Hi Ren. It is only Truth that can hit so many people like it did. What is gripping to me and where the emotions start bubbling up is the section after the 'Devil' reveals himself. The guitar progression after that makes me think of climbing out of an abyss without effort that he (us) were dragged into by the devil. The following section starts where Ren is almost a different person other than the first two. He speaks with a much Higher level of confidence and authority. Calm and relaxed at first and then building up. As if he had a talk or confirmation with a Higher being. Then in the following lyrics, it becomes clear: And you know me my will is eternal And you know me you've met Me before Face to face the beast I will rise from the east And I'll settle on the ocean floor And I go by many names also Some people know me as hope Some people know me as the voice that you hear When u loosen the noose on the rope And you know how I know that I'll prosper? Because I stand here beside you today I have stood in the flames that cremated my brain And I didn't once flinch or shake This is a clear reference to Jesus Christ. His Will is Eternal, He has met the beast before and defeated it when He went down to Hell when He stood in the flames that cremated His brain and He never once flinched or shaked. His Name is Hope, He is the One that loosens the noose on the rope. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” -- It's all part of His Plan. - Matthew 1:22-23 Now all this took place to fulfil what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.” Refer to: I stand here beside you today. This piece of art by Ren is not just Brilliant. It is something else. It is a message of hope. I would say it is a message from Above.

Nice reaction and commentary. I agree with everything you said and that there are not many artists like Ren today. I recommend his song Sick Boi which follows after this song and ties into his illness and how his misdiagnosis affected him. He brings out the medication he was receiving gave him all these negative side affects. No doubt because they weren't even for his specific disease. A couple of lines in Sick Boi on how he was feeling are " Losing patience with the process. Walking hand in hand with satan. He does bring out spiritual things in some of his songs so I feel too that he is a spiritual person. Oh, I want to bring out you will see a pig in many of his videos with the blood. It stands for The Butcher which represents the medical profession that misdiagnosed him whereas he feels they basically butchered him by their incorrect diagnosis and treatment. If it was caught early he may not have had to go through what he did and could have received the proper treatment from the beginning. Instead he suffered terribly for such a long time. In Sick Boi the pigs image briefly flashes and sits in the doctors place which represents the doctor being a part of the medical profession that misdiagnosed him. Well sorry this is so long. I am pretty much beginning my journey with Ren too but so far it has been amazing ❤️💯

The message within HiRen is all about a journey... His journey through the struggles of his life and it's his testimony where he expresses to the world how he's gone from the innocent child, through the path of darkness, chaos and dysfunction, the psychotic battle of the meds they put him on that messed with his head and was the wrong meds to how it all affected him but through his own discovery, his own learning to understand the world around him, he was able to pull away from the Devil and demons that he struggled with for a long time being ill and screwed up... To moving up to the point now, he's found the light, he's found the hope and was able to rise above and now sustain within his life and prosper too, he knows the darkness and evil is always there too as part of him but now he can be something greater than just allowing it to control him and consume him. Now his journey is about sharing the messages of his life experiences and those around him in his world, paying dues to people who have all been stuck in the deep dark parts of reality. He's waking people up to it, reminding people why we should value better and delivering his soul to us on a platter because he has found his place now. Spreading messages that inspire people to become more woke and want to rise up and above the chaos of evil and the bad... Just as Jesus put it out to the world, God is non-exclusive... Jesus's disciples at the time was from that side of the track where REN has come from-over to the side of the track of acceptance of being a human. REN is saying, the truth and reality of life itself is non-exclusive and we are all students of it. Regardless of if you're religious or not... His message is... Hey! Everyone matters in this world, including myself and these people that get overlooked all the time and misjudged all too often but helping people to understand we just have to learn to be true to one another and ourselves.

The message here is that you can never win a war that is eternal. There are no winners in war and the real battle is to learn the eternal dance, the ebb and flow of life. Because just like a pendulum life will have it's back and fourth, ups and downs and that is what life is all about. The way I understand it is that Ren has essentially represented 4 different sides in the video. The first two are mirrored sides of his human voice that battle inside his head. Both Ren but a coin of different sides. The second two voices are megalomanic representations of those two sides turned up to their highest volume. They are represented as the voice of the devil and the gentle yet all powerful hand of God. Ren believes that all these things are within him and that the eternal dance he navigates takes him between all 4. As an artist one has to be able to spend time in the farthest reaches of their soul and this song shows the depths that Ren has traveled to within himself. I believe that it's so beautiful because in some way we all struggle like this and yet the ways we struggle individually are so unique and personal. This song touches my soul in such a profound way.

I recently discovered Ren by reacting to this song myself, and since, have been watching reactions to it out of curiosity. The beauty of art is that it is open to interpretation based on the perspective of the viewer. You, a pastor, reacted very strongly to the religious imagery while I, a former student of psychology, reacted very strongly to the psychological aspect. That's intriguing in and of itself, that a single song could inspire such varying interpretations, and I think it's a testament to Ren's lyrical ability and performance. And certainly, the thing we can agree on is that this is a masterpiece. Great video! I enjoyed seeing the song through a different perspective. :)

I loved this reaction. I’ve watched so many. I recognized so much of the spiritual nature of this song. I appreciate your relation to the Bible. I don’t believe Ren is a “Christian” but he seems to be a believer in the devil and a higher power. He speaks a lot of the devil in earlier work. And I believe there is a message on the video discussing his fear of the devil when he was a child. It really struck me because my oldest son also had that and we are a very “relaxed” Christian home. Right or not, that’s how we are. So there was no reason for him to be afraid, oh, but he was terrified. So I see a little bit of a young boy in this, even though he’s a 30 yr old man. He’s had to face his fears. So yes, thank you for bringing scripture. For MY sake, it was good to be reminded of the reference to spiritual warfare in the Bible. God Bless 🙏🏻

Best reaction. He IS one one of a kind. We will never be able to get rid of spiritual attack , even if it is. at the level of temptation .Not unless or until we reach heaven.

Every single person who reacts to this song by Ren has the same conclusion "Ren is different". The reactions are all quite different, Sad, blow away, numb, happy, etc ... but the conclusion is always the same: Ren is different. By different I mean in all ways good. He is creative, raw, independent, real, authentic ... this is something you no longer get in today's "new" music (manufactured by the industry). Ren is an independent artist who was busking from the age of 12. He just turned 33 years old last month. His life story is one with many trials and tribulations, but he makes music that is complex, cerebral, and has a message. Even if the message is a jagged pill to swallow. I enjoyed your reaction.

Great reaction! Ren is brilliant and can not be put into any box or genre. He is truly gifted by God, I hope I'm there when he realizes that it is God who blessed him.❤

it took me months to give this a listen, on a different reaction channel actually, and I honestly seen it multiple times but i was like eh I dont wanna listen to that eh. but finally it popped up while i was playing a video game and it started and his guitar within seconds of playing caught my eye because hes so good. so i paused it and started watching and listening to the video. and the battle back and forth with himself and his dark side just hit me soo so so so soso so sooooo hard because I felt it in myself and I fought so hard to find my way back from Addiction although I will always and forever be an addict I Fought it and still fight it every day that I know I will never do that drug again. and I have never had a song break me but this one broke me I cried like a baby by the time he got to hope because so many times I had a voice tell me not to do it when I got to that point. That I did not want to take my life the way it was anymore and Thank god, GOD is the only reason im here. And now I am a Single Father with 2 twin 6 year old girls and sober my friends

Amazing insight in and rendition of the curse of the knowledge of good and evil which we never should have ingested in the first place and still sruggle with...

I feel the generalized message is "Balance". You need to find that balance in life that optimizes your happiness and satisfaction with oneself. There is a great deal of imagery, symbolism, metaphorical messaging, etc. in this work of art--pure art--there are are so many interpretations. I did not see this as purely humanistic, spiritual, religious or anything in particular. What I feel is this is about the eternal struggle within oursleves for self actualization. Ren comes at it from a basis of pain and suffering, anger and violence against the systems of society; but honestly, we only know that from the context of his message in the original video. Ren is simply amazing and a beautiful representation of what it means to be human. Another simple thought here is that "HOPE" is not purely a function of religion. Hope is a fundamental aspect of our evolutionary and psychologicalo development over time as humans. We hope. Hope is the word we use to define a belief in ourselves and others that there is good and happiness is achievable. You do not have to be religious to embrace hope. If you are religious then HOPE is an integral part of the message. Once again, just different interpretations of the same concept.

I love this stage presentation. The site scenery though stripped to the minimum, speaks a lot.Even the camera works are exceptional. The acting is top tier. And the musical scoring by itself, is in one with the plot of the story. Though one at the start could have an concept of where the story would go, yet one cannot guess what would be the next scene. Cleverly constructed and so many meaty asides. Okay we may call it a song.

If you notice at the end after he sang and went back into the yodel runs, the lights go back to flickering again. Which confirms that even though the holy side just finished the portion of inspiration and hope, that he will continue to be battling his internal demons.
