Whoah.. OMG! $2,600 is too much.. there are more affordable places in BGC. Rule of the thumb: NEVER work with a realtors in the Philippines! They always have a big chunk (under the table deals with the property management) for them to keep every month. They call it "Partehan".. Your Apartment probably have costs you less that $2,000 or less if you have not chosen that route! Remember, in all places in the world, there will always be scammers. Realtors have to make money somehow and vloggers like you are their favorite victimes because you don't know the clauses in how the innards of their jobs! So sad to hear this!

As mentioned by other commenters. Both parents have raised their children well. I think the kids being exposed to travels and meeting various people eliminated discrimination from their minds, like in terms of race, gender, profession and social class. The kids also show positive mindset most of the time. The parents also did not forget to mention in this vlog about always protecting the family. It is really nice and fun to watch this family.

Try condos in Makati (Salcedo or Legazpi Village). BGC is a bit bland and boring, if you'll explore Makati, you'll love it, have coffee is The Curator, food crawl in Poblacion. Or even find a condo in Poblacion, 3 bed rooms for 50-60k, 140k/mo in BGC is too much.

I always find it comical people are looking for paying less than 100 usd for the most premium, high end areas in these under countries, I see it the other way around, I think "under countries" should cost more than the countries thought of as richer, as the "richer" countries should be able to shoulder more of the load of the costs compared to the "lesser nations" I am glad these other nations arent buying into such notions that they should be dirt cheap just because they are seen as the "global south" even in their highest end most premium areas, that westerner mindset and way of thinking is nonsense.
@AlwaysBeChanging
Жыл бұрын
The $2,600 monthly cost for these places probably puts it about in the middle compared to the US. It's more than you'd pay in rural areas of the country, but it's less than we'd pay for a similar place in Denver and other big cities. At any rate, for BGC we think it's a fair price for sure 👍🏼

Yep, outside of BGC, Makati CBD, and other affluent areas, Metro Manila is still a pretty gritty and not so safe place for us foreigners. Where were you robbed btw? I'm sorry to hear that :( When I was staying in BGC last April, I went to the National Museums in Manila city proper, and going through the neighbourhoods to get there, was eye-opening for me. Maybe during the day time, I'd like to explore certain areas lol And I'm not lacking experience in big city culture, having lived in Queens, NYC, Paris, LA, Lyon, France, and having visited many large metro areas in developing countries. Traffic is so horrible in Manila, it's also not that walkable, too dense and very little green space, and public transportation needs to be improved and get more organized. I feel bad for those who have to use the public transportation system in a daily basis. It's fun to visit, but I cannot live in Manila lol

Aside from the location at BGC, the apartments have some of the best amenities like the gym, pool, conference room etc. For $2,600 and 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms that price is a bargain. I didn't have it in 2019 when I caught Dengue Fever, one little mosquito bite, in the hospital for 7 days, no cure, check your white count, cold food, no hot water, Dr. comes by each day, shakes your hand, ( he gets paid on the size of your room ) beautiful ( under paid Nurses ) only slight money back from our U.S. medical ins. I get Ins. now to travel, Filipino wife does not need it for going home. I will check your Safty Wing for sure before leaving this Nov.

Hello family! Couple of thoughts. Before making a commitment make sure to at least check out other options with or without a realtor. Also check out the other neighborhoods like Rockwell and Makati which offer the same security and community as BGC. For 150k, the price is fair but if you want a bargain, I’m sure you can find something lower. 150k makes sense for me if you’re staying 100% of the lease, but if you are going to be traveling a lot, might be better to look for other more cost efficient options. Enjoy and good luck with condo shopping! ❤❤❤

Thanks for that articulate feedback ❤️ We have until Christmas to make a decision, so we'll definitely try to find something for minimal cost that still suits our needs. Your tips are fantastic!

you can find lower than that price! Just look for a good real estate broker. You can find even lower than 50K per mo. The good thing about some other condos is they are fully furnished that's why it becomes higher on rental. However, 3 Bedrooms in a hotel vibe is a reasonable price. Vivere is the best option.

Dearest Lockwoods, for that budget and with your more outdoorsy ABC lifestyle, i can imagine your tempo place here in the PH to be a beachfront villa in Nasugbu Batangas. Big enough - 6 bedrooms or more - to have MOMDUTY fam stay with you a month or two. :) Be more flexible, a shorter lease term on a condo is better so you can get out more! Of course, plan it with MomDuty. ❤❤❤

It's great you're choosing BGC as a base. But, as I've told/commented to the Ocampos, test the condo's ceilings when it rains. A vlogger, of whose channel is called "BGC Dreams," chose one unit in BGC - and had seen his unit leak when the strong rains came. Funny it happened when they weren't even at the top floor. ... But, then again, maybe it was just that one condo. So, well, you know what you must do in making the final choice for your residency. ... Enjoy your next phase in life ... as you live in BGC. 🙂
