Thank you so much for this video. I tried the WD 40 and sprayed it twice waiting 30 minutes in between. Used a pair of rubber gloves and finally got it off. I can’t say how much I appreciate your help I thought of using the WD-40 but didn’t know if you could use that in an oven. As a woman alone without a strong man in the house, I’m proud of myself for getting it off, thanks to you. Much appreciated!!

Thank you so much for this simple "trick"! Been trying for months to get the glass off and not succeeding (putting it down to be over 70 now😢). Watched your video and gave it a good spray with WD40, left it then gave it another spray for good measure and left it again for half an hour and using the magic glove off it came. As you say leaving the WD40 to soak is the key - patience. Super pleased👍😀

Can't thank you enough. After a very stressful hour trying to remove a solidly stuck bulb cover on a Neff oven we eventually found your video. After initially not being too keen to use WD40 in an oven I gave in and applied the ever faithful WD40 (what do they put in that?). After leaving for 10 miutes and then a little wiggling it opened very easily. I had previously used the special cover removal tool five years ago when the bulb went but this time that proved in effective. Much appreciated. Thanks for putting it out there.

Hi Tony, Just a couple of quick sprays of WD. Will do the trick. After it has lossen the lighten then wipe all area down with a anti bacterial wipe. Also WD40 is not flammable so you are ok using around ovens. But make sure you wipe down with anti bac wipes before oven is used for food. Also another idea is after you have fitted the new bulb but the oven on full for 30min. This should do away with any smells. Hope this help.

Then wide all down with clean kitchen roll. The bulb should nnot be slippy if it is keeping cleaning it with clean kitchen roll. Then wobble the bulb slight making sure not to break it. Then put on the dish washing glove and try turning the bulb. DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE as this will break the bulb and can cut you fingers. Hope this helps and us saftey precaution at all time. The WD40 might have helped, but I had to suffer the wrath of my wife as the residual oil smelled up our kitchen for a few hours. Had I known I would have just taken it out without it or ordered the correct tool from Amazon which is only $17. To make it easier on the next guy I did not tighten it back very much.
