THis video was super helpful to me. Thank you. I will add, your remark about seating the fuel line in the injector housing being difficult saved me a trip to Harley for different parts. I could NOT get the o-ring on the fuel line seated in there. I used a small screwdriver to gently coerce the o-ring down into the fuel injector housing and it worked great. thanks again

Thank you for a no waffle, straight forward video. I have recently experienced the same thing with my 2018 XL IRON 883N, but the fuel line if unavailable here in the UK and some places are quoting over £100 for a replacement OEM part with a lead time of around 6 to 8 weeks! I have cut-off the defective part and tried to fabricate a temporary hose... doesn't seem to be any leaks but I have no confidence, so I guess uts a long wait and an expensive repair for what it is.

Thanks for watching. That is ridiculous the prices of everything is skyrocketing here in the states. I bought a can of bike cleaner last week. The sticker price was $5.39 but due to supply they charged me over $10. You might be able find a fuel line on Amazon or EBay. That would safe you some cash and get it quicker too. Good luck. 👍

I’m glad it helped. That’s why I made it. I couldn’t find any videos that would show me what I needed to know. One thing I would do is wrap your now line with something to prevent rubbing a hole in it. I used that plastics loom that goes over wires like in your car. Then I wrapped some electrical tape over that so it couldn’t move. It’s been fine ever since.

@@PABeardedBiker Yes, my fuel line had to be replaced because it was nasty from sitting too many years. The original line was covered with the plastic wire channel material. I reused it and it was fine. One thing I had trouble with was finding how to release the old fuel line connector. I took two of us to get it done. One to depress the connector release and another to gently pull the line off. It was hard to see and in a really tight work space. (2002 Heritage).

I was replacing the gas line on my 1993 DYNA Lowrider and was wondering the best way to rout it.
@PABeardedBiker
5 жыл бұрын
Steve Branham when I replaced mine the new part was precurved and there wasn’t much room under the tank to route it any other way than the way it came from the factory. If something has rubbed a hole in it I would advise covering the line with something or wrapping tape around the hose to prevent rub through. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

Crazy question, but do you still have the old parts? I had a leaking part that's comes out of the tank so I took the tank off and decided to check my gas line, tok it all into the shop for them to fix the O-rings, and they lost the o-ring and washer. I cannot get one, according to Harley, without buying the whole kit. I would pay you to ship your old ring and washer. I would normally just buy one but hate to when its gas related incase I get wrong size. Let me know. Thanks

I actually took the advice from someone that gave a comment. I took a piece of plastic loom that goes over a wire harness and cut a small chunk and fitted it around the gas line. Robert Senecal not sure. If it was running fine before you switched the gas line maybe the new line has a kink in it. To make sure the gas is flowing out of the gas pump correctly you could pull the end out that goes to the injectors put that end in a small tub and turn it over to see if you have flow. Also make sure you have the new hose seated into the injector housing the whole way. I found it kind of difficult to insert the new hose with new o-rings into the injector housing. Hope this helps. 👍
