I spent last night listing my very first items on eBay and I was sitting there thinking “I wish someone would just tell me the real deal and not sugarcoat reselling.” Then BAM I woke up to your video. Thank you so much. Like many others I’ve watched countless KZitemrs talk about how many thousands of dollars they bring in every month and they make it seem as simple as throwing up a listing. I half expected for my measly 10 items to already be sold this morning. I knew there had to be more to the story and thank you so much for keeping it real. I needed to hear all of this.

It is hardwork. I try to explain this to people who are interested in selling. They think it's easy but I let them it takes time and patience. Ive been reselling for 20 years and I'm still learning. Thanks for sharing 🙂🙂🤗

I've been reselling that long too and always enjoyed it till I started watching youtube vids and decided to really have a go at it. My house tuned into a storage unit and I started to hate it. My daughter helped me clear out a bunch of old inventory and I'm NEVER going back to the way it was. I make more money selling one particular herb than I make from reselling clothes/junk. I need to make some vids about what I've learned. Number one is just because someone else made a ton of money reselling, doesn't mean you can. I watched one particular vid that showed items on ebay that sold for top dollar. They were showing the actual screen so they weren't making it up. I had several of these same items. I listed them and didn't get anywhere near the price I thought I would. I've learned that timing is everything. By the time you watch a vid on something and then go find it and then put it up, the enthusiasm could be OVER! Personally I would hate to depend on reselling for my livelihood.

Love this! I've seen a few of your videos. I don't think you make it look "easy". I think people who think that aren't listening. I have a ton I need to list...and it's on me to do that. Some people don't understand that reselling is not passive income.

PROFIT - always so much smaller than people think. This is another reminder why it's so CRUCIAL to track your numbers constantly to ensure you are trending up. That includes Gross sales (-expenses) =NET profit (what you are actually taking home in your pocket for all your hard work. Better believe it's hard work especially for single parents working multiple jobs and trying to keep everything profitable.

Good video...I appreciate your candor about the "invisible" work that goes into reselling. I don't think people would find it quite so compelling if KZitemr resellers posted videos of how the bulk of their time is spent (driving to sales/post office, cleaning/organizing/packing/photographing inventory, etc.). ;-) Your willingness to be transparent about the process is great!

Good video, I think the common misconception is you find items and they appear on eBay instantly. Listing and researching is something that takes time if you want to maximize your profits. For you specifically you take a lot of time making your listings look nice. I try to always take clear pics and every angle. Then describe every single flaw to avoid any controversy. I've also implemented my own rule that anything that sells for over $100, I will record the entire packing process from step 1 all the way to putting the label on the item. Anyone who thinks this is easy are people just looking for a quick buck. I love this life because as you said at the end... the harder you work the greater the end result.

In the past I used to have ZERO idea what my average ROI, Shipment Costs, COG, etc. was. Then I sat down for a couple weeks and worked out an excel spreadsheet that tracked all my Amazon orders with corresponding shipments and got all my numbers straight. I felt an enormous weight fall off my shoulders. No more guessing about numbers, I know exactly what I need to buy per week and how much of it. I highly recommend getting all that figured out if you don’t already.

I do it now due to Chronic pain , and copd I can work and not work hard when I'm having flare up. Love your videos I always find new ideas, new brands. Even this OG (at 60) can learn new things. My husband and I are doing this business while working full time. There are frustrating things that happen like PayPal not getting all the business docs and they were uploaded and then I call they say we need a pdf and without doing that it gets completed. We did form a LLC and have UBI number and resellers lic.We set up a business bank account as well.We are setting up wholesale sourcing and will do sourcing like you for sure. I like what you have had to say and you are one of the ones who keeps it real and I look to as a successful seller. My first amazon shipment they wanted me to ship one box full I had ready to six different locations all over the country I had seen one video mention this in the many fba videos I watched...to say the least I was not happy and had some not so happy words.... I looked up how to pull the plug on amazon in a moment of frustration...my husband went to mow our five acres lol mowing therapy can.do wonders. I got back on the saddle and said if this is the animal Amazon is then it’s their platform so we have to do it their way.. eBay appeals to me in the broad Wild West ability to sell anything haven’t really listed anything due to PayPal set up getting finalized just last week.Getting to know Amazons sellers central and eBays way of listing is a learning curve but you find it and learn something new. Bottom line is to keep forging ahead,we had a business before and we love the idea of running one from home while we are at our regular job while trying to build it. Hey if there is any sort of secret Squirel info on how I can ship to one location that would be good. Some items you don’t want to put it in with other things due to possible damage to products, well keep up the good work and your an inspiration to me....

The most successful people that make this their main business are consistent and slowly build up to making this a full-time job. Slow and steady makes this race a worthy goal. It is easy to burn out if you go all in. This business requires your time, even when you have enough money to pay workers that help you with your business. you will still have to play a part keeping your business alive and thriving. Thanks for the real advice!

Great video. Don't pay any attention to the comments. People are lazy and have that "Get Rich Quick" mentality. There has to be an inner drive to do this. If you get it right, the rewards are excellent and it really is alot of fun. The 200% - 1500% markup from thrifting/garage sale etc etc is incredible. Keep the videos coming. People aren’t lazy because they state how discouraging it was to resale. Exactly be honest test with everything in life comes work even in relationships but don’t say it’s hard hard and it’s not for everyone and discourage people who may learn from you. Why be a hater. Be an uplifter encourage those to work for themselves not for corporations or companies that when hard times hit as a recession slow sales they give their employees the boot without ever consideration about their families and livelihood depending on that hourly paycheck. As I love this channel this video did take me back she’s so positive and encouraging this one in particular left me more discourage than anything I ever seen on here. Her saying there’s less items at yard sales because there’s more resellers that’s a lie and it’s beautiful to see more people taking an initiative to be self employed and independent not making the corporate man rich anymore. Despite how much reuse donations and reselling goes on there is still 45k pieces of clothing discarded in landfills in every county every day. Exactly like you said the potential is enormous There’s people making more money than they can ever make working at a hrly pay. Not everyday is a score but the rewards beat the hard sweat labor work . And for that reason is why people are wishing her video would not make it seem being a reseller was too hard one has no chance in making some income or making a ft business. Anyone can be a reseller it’s up to each of they enjoy the journey or not . And yes definitely must have fun with it always be an uplifter to help others and inspire as this keeps people stress free and happier doing their own efforts for themselves not for the corporate world .

As a former ER nurse I too, love to cross the street first, then look for traffic. I can tell you it’s hard to grow that thick skin but it can be done. Really good video. I've been selling on eBay on a small to medium scale sine '98 and everything you outline is true. It's the price of the ticket you pay to have something as cool as eBay or Amazon available. The bottom line I've arrived at is that the bad the comes in from, essentially, strangers, is NOT personal. And that the good always seems to outweigh the bad.

I`ve been a reseller for about 20+ years now .... i`ve done the Ebay thing, the Amazon thing, I sold at flea markets and even had a shop for a while that in the end didn`t work out ... it costed me more then I was making and drained my funds. because I another shop that was twice the size of me set up beside me and killed all my sales. I went back to work for over a year and discovered that I didn`t enjoy that so much and over the past months i`ve been working on rebuilding my business on Facebook marketplace part time while working the job still. I forgot how much I hated working other companies and how much loved working doing this. Right now I need to rebuild my finances up again instead of just having enough to pay bills .. but in time i`d like to get back to selling on Ebay and Amazon and have my own website again as well. I have to say that I love dealing with people directly too except certain crazy customers that i`ve had to deal with over time. Some customers are amazing though. I`m both a introvert and and extrovert because I need people in my life but I don`t in my life as often as i`d like. I also love time though to be away from people as well .. not as much though as I love being around people. Dealing with Facebook marketplace though allows me to talk to people and get to deal with people one on one,

I AGREE>>>ITS NOT FOR ALL YOU PEOPLE!!! Grabs items and triples sales "wink, wink" 😎😁 Its hard work if your only doing it because you are solely greed induced etc...Most will of course find it hard when it isn't just raining $$ on them. I feel like those who actually enjoy the process of looking for deals etc don't really have an issue with "The Hard Work" if that's what it really can even be called. If you feel like this is really hard...It simply isn't for you. Why do a job that you dislike??? I actually started doing this cause I love it...and went part time for now at a job I dislike...which was the catalyst to start this...Im not going to work a job NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT PAYS if I don't like it. If your priority is $$ and the priority behind that is...$$$...Your missing the point.

Very well explained. I am retired military so that helps having a base income. I would just add recommending this for also for stay at home parents or retired.

Thank you 🙏 thank you for your transparency.!!! I’m a stay at home looking for a side hustle. I’ve been watching some of your videos and you don’t make it look easy. You make it look do- able. Heck you can tell by the system you have in the back that it’s not easy. But I’m thinking this is not for me.

Thanks for this vid! so often people watch successful resellers and then think being profitable just happens, and it's easy and for anyone and everyone easily! while you CAN get over hurdles, it IS hard and requires a LOT of work! And time! I personally have always been horrible with things like book-keeping and being financially structured. So it's a huge challenge for me! I"m not giving up, but I am def. learning fast, and working on keeping track of everything and etc. Because I know it won't work if I don't! Still working on finding the best spreadsheet option for me, so I actually keep track of every detail in an actual notebook with a pen, haha! Anyway...thanks again!

Have you tried selling on mercari? Or what are your thoughts on it ? I started selling in ebay about a month ago and have made $200 or so however I started selling on Mercari 6 days ago and have already sold $130 . I everything was from Goodwill and yardsales so I flipped $7 into $130 .... i just feel like mercari has been easier and better for me as opposed to Ebay

Your doing great 👍 I am new to reselling and it is hard work. Plus being a Wife and Mom of 3 and working part time. I enjoy watching your videos and have gotten a lot of tips on brands. I especially like how you photograph clothes. I’m still trying to work that out. But I will get there. 👍. Thanks again, keep up the good work 👍

I would recommend using an app. Spreadsheets are a lot more time consuming. I'm not currently selling online but have done and will be again soon. I read a comment from a seller who said the name of the app he uses but I can't remember now. If I find it, I'll let you know. But the apps are designed to make it easy for you, for your taxes if you're a business. I guess a spreadsheet would be okay if it was set up properly but I would sooner use an app

Ebay serves as an accessory when they enable a buyers to scam you . It's happened to me dozens of time. Ebay's feedback system is slanted towards the buyers. You have some good information. I wouldn't sell anything too expensive on ebay since you could get robbed. Also, it's easier to get scammed internationally as well.

I definitely introvert. I don’t do well with micromanagement or restrictions of 9-5 with very little to show for it. Yeah it’s a lot of work but it’s working when I want to work not being told to be here at this time and leave at this time. I worked in a call center for 16 yrs- highly stressful job so yeah I’d rather put in the work for my own business instead of making someone else rich.

I’m just starting out and so far no it’s not easy. I spent 10 hours over two days just going to garage sales to find things for resell. I still don’t have all things washed or repaired to list much list photographing everything at different angles. Then I have to list and describe each item. Then put it all on a spreadsheet to keep track of. Not easy but so far I love it

I think one key thing people overlook is that internet selling is not always consistent. No matter how well priced, well listed your items are, sales/income is reliant on people purchasing your items. I was sailing along with fairly consistent sales once, netting around $500 a week and trying to push that up. Then out of the blue I went 5 whole days without a sale. It can happen so it's important to make hay while the sun shines, be frugal and stash some away for those down weeks. Even the few months after Christmas can have tumbleweed blowing through your store. If it happens, run some low start price auctions and/or sales to get some momentum back. But it can be a worry when it's your income. I currently do weekend markets and will continue to do that when I go back online. Best not to keep all the eggs in one basket in my opinion
