@@VagabondAwake Sorry for the late reply but I live in Hawaii right now . Im retiring and no way I can make it without working on the west coast of Hawaii. Enjoy the ocean life but that has become a secondary option to the cost of a decent apt. and the cost of food. I dont need much as I dont drink, but would like a place to swim, exercise and maybe meet a woman there .

Nice video. I’m currently in Vung Tau visiting. I’ve been here 2 months and would consider retirement here. The cost of property surprises me a bit, quite higher than I expected. I would like to buy a piece and build a house if I can find land at a reasonable price.

Thanks for your thoughts David G. Personally, I have decided not to buy real estate overseas and I am not telling you not to buy if you have your mind made up. But read/watch my report so you can cover your behind when you buy in a foreign country. vagabondbuddha.com/why-retired-expats-should-not-buy-real-estate-overseas/ Thanks, Dan

Nice video. I've only been to Vung Tau once. I made the mistake of getting an airbnb room in a deserted hotel (during the week) in the back beach area. I don't have a driver's license. When I return I'll make sure I stay near the city center near where Offshore hotel is located. It's a fairly upmarket part of town. Quiet compared to Saigon but has clean air, beaches and a laid back atmosphere. The Vietnamese tend to descend on the place on weekends which I haven't experienced.

Love your videos. Informative and appropriate info. Could use less music while you are speaking...it overwhelms your voice. Thanks for making the location the story, not yourself. A high percentage of these types of videos are just rolling selfies of people who think we want desperately to look at them. We don't. You turn the camera around and show the places you visit, not yourself.

Hi vagabond awake. Really enjoy your videos. I am thinking of travelling to Vietnam soon. I do a lot of cycling. Would vung tau be suitable to do a lot of cycling around the city and the out skirts. Could you cycle 60 miles around the area safely with respect to other vehicles and road safety

The streets are wide in Vung Tau than other places in Vietnam, but I didn't see many cyclers around. Scooters everywhere but not many cyclers

@@VagabondAwake I would love to be able to walk everywhere as I always have but unfortunately an ankle issue precludes that. I can cycle easily though as long as I like. It looks as if the beaches with their wide promenades would be ideal for cycling but I can see that most city streets have numerous sidewalk obstructions and the streets themselves probably aren't safe for bicycles. Are any of the other cities in SE Asia more bicycle friendly then?

Shower mats, buy cheap non slip shower mats because they use slippery wall tiles on wet area floors including shower areas. If you don,t flush the toilet after 3 wipes, you will block the toilet because their toilet bowl outlet is much smaller than ours ( everybody hoses their nether regions while seated , hose and spraying nozzle is always handy ). You neglected to mention the ten pin bowling alley, the snooker hall and Paradise Golf course and club. They are trying to get national road fatalities down to less than 40 a day and any travel insurer will wipe you if you have an accident and don,t have a motorbike licence while scootering. Road crossing is not an issue because the motorists would rather avoid you and will honk their horn to tell you they are coming . Everybody warns everybody and everybody honks their horn. Great vid tho. Keep up the good work.

Philippines is not for everyone but the people are some of the most friendly you will find and English is spoken everywhere. So much to see and do, Iam sure you will love it.
