Special relationships were formed between the first missionaries and Māori nearly two hundred years ago in the Northland.
Rev Amiria Te Whiu, who is based in Paihia with the Presbyterian Māori Ministry, known as Te Aka Puaho Taitokerau, is carrying on that same faith tradition today.
Mānia Clarke spoke with her in Paihia, and asked her about some of the challenges she faces in her role of ministering to the community.
