This happens always in the "Software contracts" world... The fortune 500 company promised a 12 month contract, but it was 6 months of work. Appreaciate your hard work. My last contract stated January 30, last day, but the client manager let me stay until February 28th. Your developer Angular/JavaScript/SQL skills are valuable worth $2.1 million over a lifetime. After 3 years, all good programmers make $90k to $150k per year.. This guy gives Perfect advice about interview ready... 3 rd phase.. This KZitemr seems very humble... Thank You

Definitely good advice. And what you're saying about work experience is true. It gets a lot easier to get interviews and job offers when you have more work experience. I'm at three years of work experience and I recently got two job offers which has never happened to me before.

Got released around 11 months ago today back in 2022 April, they couldn't find a company to take me since I did not get the certifications ... tbh, I am kinda happy about it, got all the experience in Salesforce but was never tied to a company so I could just get an entry level job in Salesforce without being tied to them for 2 years, and I'm free to work remotely living wherever I want instead of moving to that expensive city they wanted me at for a merely $45k

I was at Revature 4 years ago. My client bought out my contract a year after being picked up and I'm now making six figures. Most of my batch mates didn't like their experience with Revature. I found it essential to my development. If you get hired at Revature I would advise that you not only absorb as much as you can in knowledge but also in being able to apply that knowledge. If you do get picked up by a client, absorb as much knowledge from them as you can also. if you are seen as the subject matter expert and people come to you for help on issues, it goes a long way even if you're still considered entry level or junior dev. BTW I don't know if they still do the suits on Mondays, however I thought that was excessive.

@@gislainedelaet9350 Practice, practice, practice. Meaning, you don't have to ace the coding, but you do have to communicate. You need to get used to saying your thoughts about how you plan to solve a problem, what do you have to consider, are there conditions you think you need to meet. Then start listing. 1) I am going to need these variables. 2) when I hear the problem it makes me think of this data structure, why? 3) I need my code to do this unless this other thing happens... etc. It helps you to share how you work through problems, but also helps you to break it up for yourself as well. I hope this helps some.

Sorry for the late reply, Depending on what educational credentials you already have, I’d recommend applying, there is a good chance that you will not need to complete the full 2 year contract, and in the meantime you could gain some experience

After doing my own research on the company, for those of you who don’t have experience or anything that really ties you to your current place of living, this maybe a good option for to get your foot in the door. And to the creator of this video thank god you got out of that contract, me personally I will not be selling my soul for 2 yrs just for the experience. I’d rather work somewhere with decent pay outside of my field and build a decent project portfolio to show potential jobs my skills than ever take a position with them.
@manasez2548
Жыл бұрын
i see your point and all but you would just waste time working outside your field if you really want to gain experience in it. it’s a tough job market for tech rn so i really wouldnt say this is selling your soul by any means but yes it isn’t the most ideal option. my current plan is to use the 8-10weeks of paid training while I simultaneously apply vigorously to a bunch of other job. all while getting paid to learn even more skills and build projects that will in turn help me get interviews for these others better jobs within the field.

Thank you for the video. I am curious about the many ((10-20)) applications a day you were putting in. How many of these applications do you customize your resume. i ask because the amount of time per application for me is pretty high, I am usually catering my resume each time.
@israelafangideh
Жыл бұрын
I wasn’t customising my resume at all for each job, I also wasn’t writing cover letters. I was told by some recruiters that they usually skim over the resume and don’t really read the cover letters for technical roles, so this is why I took that approach. I also put my LinkedIn on my resume and in the application form itself

As long as you have a Bachelor’s degree, even an Associate’s, you should get a call back, even if the degree isn’t in tech. The harder part is passing the technical evaluation and then doing well in the paid training. Make sure you study for the technical evaluation, I have a video about that as well. Best of luck!

@Mitch P In my opinion, I think you can apply for the Revature program, and see how it goes, try to work remote if you can and get bought out of your contract as soon as possible. Since you don’t have much educational or professional experience in software, I think there’s much more upside from Revature than if you did, best of luck!!

Sorry for the lack of detail, Yes, two weeks after the client released me due to recession worries, Revature released due to not having a new client for me. There’s no rule that says you can’t be in staging more than 2 weeks but I didn’t think they would be able to find a new client for me anyway because of the layoffs and the way the economy was at the time.

If you have a comp sci degree don’t go to revature. They specialize in training people that don’t know any development and want a career change. They teach you and give you a job but then hold that over your head making you sign a 2 year contract 50k a year. If you leave before two years are up and they didn’t release you, you must pay for the training you received.

@@ipodtouch470 that isnt enforceable by law. you can just find a job and tell them to go fuck themselves. they threaten you with legal action, tell them youll see them in court. they dont have any legal precedent to go further.
