I think that you can put some onion then sandwich the cilantro with more onions on top with it in the middle. One gets less cilantro stuck in the "fullstar". This is one of my Christmas gifts for myself this year.

Before squizing joice try rolling the orange/lemon/whatever... on the Countertop... Roll it up a bit with some pressure To break the fibers and make the job later much much easier... Roll it a bit stop Don't even pick up cut at the center pick up one slice Juice and so on... Simple right... Much quicker

Am I doing something wrong? I want apple cubes (diced) and I’m getting French fries shape lol
@HappyHealthyWife
2 жыл бұрын
Here is my fix. Before putting the apple into the chopper, slice the apple so that the slices are the same width as the squared in the blades. About 1/2 inch thick slices for the medium dicer and 1/4 inch thick for the fine dicer.

For me, it saves time in chopping onions and making pico de gallo. For other times it's just how my mood strikes me. Instead of making my chopping decision, knife or chopper, based on time, I base it on which I will enjoy more.

As with all the types of vegetable choppers no one wants to try dicing carrots do they. Is this because they simply do not work.
@HappyHealthyWife
3 жыл бұрын
I should have included carrots as they dice nicely in the chopper (it's sweet potatoes that this chopper advises not to dice cause it could harm the blade). The recipes I chose for this review didn't involve carrots, but I have used this vegetable chopper to dice carrots for my chicken pot pie, vegetable soup and chicken noodle soup. I don't use it often for carrots because I prefer sliced carrots so I usually use a mandolin or a knife instead of the chopper when I am cutting carrots.

@@HappyHealthyWife I can't see how, if you put a carrot in it surely the pieces are not cubed, they would be like short chips.
@HappyHealthyWife

@@Stubchain It all depends upon how you cut the carrots before putting them in the chopper. I cut the carrots like the size of the celery 7:05 so they come out as cubes.

It doesn't seem to Dice or Slice potatoes or Dice Tomatoes without peeling the skin and cutting in 4.And How about Green bell peppers ? Not what I'm looking for..
@HappyHealthyWife
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. It will probably do potatoes without peeling them first, but probably not tomatoes. And Yes, you do have to cut your vegetables down so that they will fit inside the blades and not be too close to the edges to use the chopper. They also warn against using sweet potatoes/yams as that vegetable is too hard for the blades. As for bell peppers, it chops them just as easily as the jalapenos, but it might make them too small for your liking. It would be the same size as the celery.

Very thorough review. I bought one but it didn't have the extra attachments like the egg slicer, vegetable peeler.... it has the spiralizer/ribbon thing which I have yet to test. I made chips with it this evening and it really cut down the chopping time. Really easy to use and really even chips (fries in American;) ) The garlic press seems a way better option: agreed that garlic cubes too large Really happy with how it chops. Thinking of buying a mechanical spud peeler now 🤔.....has anyone tried one?
@HappyHealthyWife
2 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! I'm amazed you made chips with it. I have never tried since I didn't think the potato would fit below the pusher. Now I'll have to try it myself. Haven't looked into a potato peeler myself, I usually prefer kitchen gadgets to have more than one purpose.

Here i am looking simply to see how well the device function how sharp it is and so on.... and i get 1 of the dumbest tests possible..... ok.... lets say you wish to cut herbs with the device that was very very clearly not designed to do so.... Can't you just oh idk Put thoes herbs underneath somthing else.. like let's say slicers or half's of a cucumber Place the herbs underneath and the thicker vegetable will push it beyond what the plastic would... Or you know.... just use it as jntented! Man why is it that people lack basic common sense... Also.... no the world won't end by cutting a tomato however if it's too ripe it could get way too squized rather then cleanly cut A specially after prolonged use with the blades getting a bit more doll... Sure some things will keep on cutting well but.... there's a reason the company states it wasn't designed for it........ And so that you won't given them a low rating....
@HappyHealthyWife
2 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting idea for cutting herbs. I guess it would work to have a sturdier vegetable on top. And after using this device for quite a while now, it is as you say. If the thing to be cut is hardy, like a firm roma tomato, carrots, celery, ham, potato and the like it cuts cleanly. If it's on the soft side, like a vine ripened tomato, cheddar cheese, green onion, cooked bacon and the like, then it's just going to get stuck in the blades.
