I would return it to Bach and tell them it's not a 1E it measures more like a 3E, what's the use of having a mislabeled mouthpiece.

I love these reviews on "mainstream" mouthpieces. It's fun to learn about all the different specs. Do you think you could review one that's on the deeper side? Perhaps an A or B cup?

I think it works as a Piccolo Trumpet Mouthpiece as its tapered & Piccolo Trumpets are an Octave above normal Trumpets.

Yes I think there is a reason why MP's in the ballpark of Bach's 3C and 1.5C are so very very popular. I am not a fan of the Bach rim profiles on those two but MPs. I like the rim profile on Storks much better but that is just preference.

Actually, F isn't the most shallow either. In standard Bach sizes, A-E is only available, but other variations have been available by custom order on a very limited basis.

I have a 5V .... auditioned on it years back for many UK conservatoires ..... I do feel that was a HUGE mistake (I lacked flexibility and felt restricted) ..... been on Bach 1.5B which my old uni trpt tutor recommended and played well with although my own experience was only an 'okay'... but recently returned to 1.25C and like the better attack and flexibility.... happy on this one for now.. My 5V I have found a great use for.. my WWI army bugle has very poor intonation on the E and the original bugle mouthpiece doesn't help at all. The 5V trumpet mouthpiece in it means I can manipulate this note much better and get it closer to the right pitch making me much happier when I use it each year for Rememberance Day. The deep cup helps to keep a sound more suited to the bugle, even if fitting a trpt mouthpiece into a bugle could be seen as a little crude.

The 1E is more shallow and wider in diameter than the 5C.

@@MigzMigz35 I made the video. The only help with range is temporary with a shallow mouthpiece like this one. It will create a damaging pressure habit which is the leading cause of range and endurance issues un brass players.

Actually, the megatone concept was invented in the 1930's.
