Yeah I know dude, they're hard to come by. I figure if I just leave these up here for a while they'll eventually accumulate and start speeding up. Thanks for the comment/view!

Actually the edge issue was from the extreme overuse of the tip end of the blade. From all the hacking, chopping and using the tip for puncture and throwing, the fine edge of the tip was just beaten down. Also, that would take forever to remove that much blade steel with a fixed angle stone, and would actually change the curve of the knife a good deal. I'm just going to convex the edge instead. Lastly, that was a simile, I was not literally sawing butter. It's carpet.

Yeah but the top of the edge is now so obtuse that to reset the angle, I'd have to take off so much steel that it would change the shape of the blade. That's more important to me than getting back the acute angle that will just be beaten down again. Plus a convex will be more durable.

to fix the edge just use a sharpener with a fixed angle the edge issue is most likely from you using a stone incorrectly and I cant remember the last time I sawed butter
