The popular theory on why Alan doesn’t remember biting Charlie’s nose is because he was high on painkillers after the whole “being crucified by bliblies” thing.
@fireflocs
3 ай бұрын
Plus it was definitely a traumatic episode for him. He may even have repressed some of that day.
@strangersomethings2187
3 ай бұрын
Even if not the painkillers or the trauma, i think the single frames, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it of Charlie 1) pushing Alan away and then 2) flinching, are so subtle that Alan (and probably many viewers) didn’t even register Charlie’s discomfort and basically forgot it, whereas Charlie has had time to ruminate on it

"There are many people who are too kind to others and break their own hearts". Damn, this channel keeps getting too real lol. A really beautiful sentiment though. I think it's important to remain good to others even if it causes occasional strife. Sometimes a small, even forgettable act of kindness is all a person needs to keep going when at their worst. You never know when someone you meet is going through a dark part in their life. It's never that hard to be polite and remind them they're still human.

I appreciate the honest and strikingly mature lessons some of these episodes end with, seemingly out of nowhere Like the Halloween episode from season one, where a horrible night demon isn't nearly as dangerous as an outraged mob that feels their violence is justified Or the Christmas one, where both Charlie and the Devil feel depressed and disinterested, despite having all of their needs and wants fulfilled by modern amenities. And sometimes all it takes is finding satisfaction in something, even if it's just doing your job. Or this episode, where Pim and Boss are in a strange country with strange rules. Boss expresses disgust with them and their culture, and we expect him to do something to offend them. But Pim does so entirely innocently, and we see their culture is cruel and insane. Yet Boss praises them because he got what he wanted from them.

I didn't even consider the Boss's nose coming off could be a reference to Michael Jackson, That's a really good observation! I know that Zach, one of the creators of the show, would infrequently reference sayings or rumors regarding Michael Jackson in everyday conversations during the OneyPlays gaming videos he starred in, and this sort of reference was seen in the previous season of Smiling Friends.
